Hi. I'm Eric. I live in Columbia Heights. I write. I travel. I drink. And I love to eat.

Some of my favorite days I spent walking and exploring my own city. I am right more times than people give me credit for and wrong more times than I'd want to admit. I'm pretty much a DC native, having spent most of my life in and around the city.

I love dating. I've found the worst thing that can happen is I make a new friend.

I'm a sucker for smart women who have a passion in something I know little or nothing about.

Being my own activities director. Writing. Eating new things. Looking for opportunities to be a better me.

making friends. And cooking a meal out of whatever I find in your refrigerator. I'm also pretty good at awkward situations. Now whether or not I'm the cause of said awkward situations is up for debate. And also karaoke.

How approachable and easy-going I am.

Books: I read a new book every one to two weeks.
My favorites (in no particular order): One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. The Great Gatsby. The Cloud Atlas by Liam Callanan (not to be confused with Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell, though, that, too, is an awesome book). Tiger's Wife. Invisible Monsters.

TV: I don't watch much TV, but when I do it's almost always one of these shows: Doctor Who. Archer. The Walking Dead. Locked Up Abroad. Top Gear.

Food: Any kind. If I were to choose the top three, they would be: Japanese, Cajun/Soul Food and a serious tie between Chinese, Vietnamese, Mediterranean and Mexican.

Music: Pretty much anything but go-go and reggae.

Movies: Way too many to name. I've rated over 2200 movies of every genre on Netflix.

how people ever figured out the bus routes and schedules before the advent of the Internet, the next place I'm going to travel, my three nieces and the subject of my next piece of writing - at this moment, it's apparently "On a typical Friday night I am."

cooking a large meal. Then it's out on the town with my friends and/or coworkers. But I also often enjoy time by myself to get away from the cacophony for a while.

Every time I rate someone on Quickmatch, I feel dirty. Who am I to judge people based on their looks? But it's like crack, I can't stop doing it.

Also, I'm allergic to cats. So, I don't actually "Dislike cats," my body just won't let me like them.
