I am spinning, round, and round.
My Self-Summary
*work in progress*
Originally from LA, spent my youth going to shows, dancing late
into the night and trying to figure out how to overthrow the
government while getting us out of Nicaragua and El Salvador. Not
much has changed, now that I think about it! Well, perhaps the
geography…
I've been working in the travel industry for the past few years for
a few reasons: I work from home, it allows me the freedom to do
what I want and I get to travel - alot. Hey, it's not what I set
out to do, but it pays the rent and allows me plenty of time to do
my own thing...my own thing consisting of dancing as much as
possible (I was a go-go dancer and taught dance for many years),
seeing friends, cooking, museums, theatre, nerding out on
genealogical research, going to shows...whatever the city has in
store for me.
What I’m doing with my life
Planes, trains and automobiles.
I’m really good at
Dancing. Packing Light. Sleeping on planes, Blacking out during
conversations about sports.
The first things people usually notice about me
I should be kissed, and often...by someone who knows how.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: Ask the Dust (anything by John Fante really), Master &
Margarita, 100 Years of Solitude, New York Trilogy, Assassination
Vacation
What I've recently read: The Wordy Shipmates, The Forsythe Saga,
I'm Perfect, You're Doomed, The Family (which scared me half to
death despite the witty beatnik banter)
What I'll get through someday: The Great Los Angeles Swindle; Oil,
Stocks & Scandal during the Roaring Twenties
Classic Movies: The Thin Man series, The Philadelphia Story,
Rebecca, House on Haunted Hill, The Bad Seed, Mr. Blandings Builds
His Dream Home
Music: Current Top 5 Desert Island Albums: 1) Beatles - White
Album, 2) The Who - Quadrophenia, 3) The Stooges - Raw Power 4) The
Kinks - Something Else, 5) Bob Dylan - The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan
and an alternate: The Jam - Setting Sons
Food: Yes please.
The six things I could never do without
Music, dancing, travel, books, good design, my passport
I spend a lot of time thinking about
how to retire in the South of France, where I'm going on my next
vacation, why Joe Lieberman is still heading the Senate Committee
on Homeland Security, why the Democrats don't have balls, what I
can do to get them a pair, the rise of the corporation in American
life, what I'm eating for dinner, and who I'm going to get to fix
my bike.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out with friends, dinner, dancing, drinking, shows, donation museum
Fridays...not necessarily in that order or all in the same night.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I collect pictures of dead people.
You should message me if
you enjoy good conversation, random topics, classic cocktails both
high highfalutin and low brow, are not a married
cross-dresser/tranny, or just want to say hi.
