Artist at heart, community organizer by practice, scholar by nature. Very approachable, honest, and down to earth.

I love to capture the world around me by drawing, painting, writing poetry, and taking photos. My inspiration comes from finding beauty in the most banal and simple things - flying insects in a beam of sunshine, a crooked tooth in a beautiful smile, and the heat from a starbucks coffee without the cup sleeve.

It's the simple things in life that make me happy every day.

I can be a handful - I'm full of energy. I'm definitely a leader, so those around me need to keep up with my energy. Although, it's not to say that I don't like relaxing as much as the next person.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm a community organizer working for a LGBT non-profit. Making people feel like they are a part of something important and to have them learn more about themselves in the process is my call in life. Teaching is my passion, and I can't imagine doing anything else. My hope is to eventually go back to school to get a Phd.

I love pushing myself to new limits - currently I'm training for a marathon and hoping to skydive very soon. Want to jump off a plane and plummet to the earth with me?

I’m really good at

Making vegan meals (yum!), running long distances, being a perfectionist, carrying fun conversation with others, pretending like I have a good singing voice, not being punctual, and helping others.

People always assume I'm shy but that's just because I'm a great listener always wanting to learn more about others.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: I generally like to read political theory or political exposes/current affairs, philosophy (especially the Greek classics) and contemporary American fiction (beatniks are my favs)

Movies: Dark comedies or spy action thrillers (James Bond!). I also like horror movies, because I can completely suspend my disbelief when I'm watching them...beware I may jump out of my seat, seriously.

Music: Indie pop rock, obscure electronic dance, alternative rock, 80s pop and rock, and some current pop.

Food: Fresh organic vegan meals. No chicken menstruation, dead carcasses, or cow juice for me...too much?

The six things I could never do without

My books to transport my mind to unknown places
My perpetual curiosity to get me in trouble

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Large philosophical questions - you know, the big ones. Where did we come from?, why are we here?, where are we going? Current politics and state affairs also keep my mind busy, I'm a political news junkie.

On a typical Friday night I am

Drinks or dinner mostly and dancing every so often. If there's a show or performance in town I usually like to go watch and take in some culture. Cooking and hosting dinners are some of my other favorite activities.

I love to rim, plus I have a couple sexual fetishes (nothing too creepy, I promise!)...hehe
