I think it's the intangible things in life that make it great.
I enjoy people who enjoy controversial things.
I've been told twice in the past 6 months that I "don't seem" like a Portlander. Hard to explain why -- I get the feeling it's because I'm pretty direct and kind of a smart ass. Maybe a typical Portland guy spends more time talking about his feelings than I do? I dunno.
I'm a good travel buddy but I don't feel like I do it often enough. Went to NYC for the weekend for my birthday a while back -- fun trip but way too short. Last big trip was Spain and the north of Italy for 3 weeks but that was some time ago.
Once upon a time, I was good at swing dance. And I have gone to salsa, I even have the shoes for it.
Here are some of my favorite things to do: drinking coffee (if there's a coffee place in town I've probably been there, tried it and have an opinion about it, but I'm no snob), building Legos with my son, trying new restaurants, playing pool, reading a book in the park on a sunny day, eating sushi, movies at Cinetopia, finding new music that I like, happy hour with friends, playing tennis.
In general I don't get along with superficial people.
I'm way less serious than this profile makes me sound.
The last time I sat down and watched an entire football game was sometime in the 90s.
