My Self-Summary
I'm a person that focuses more on positives than negatives. I work
hard during the 9-5 so I like to balance my free time with fun,
adventures and relaxation. Some of the fun things I enjoy include:
going out - whether it be to a dive bar or classy establishment,
cooking or going out to good restaurants, trivia nights, salsa
dancing, traveling, road trips or being outside to skate
ski/skate/hike/go to the beach. Also, and of course, spending time
with friends and family.
And I won't lie: I kinda have a dorky side. I love learning history, geography and new languages. I recently borrowed Norwegian language tapes from the BPL. The tapes were sub par, at best, and I don't think anyone had checked them out since the mid 80s. As a result, the only phrase I retained is, "Goodbye father." But damn, I can say it beautifully.

I work as a hospital social worker and love it!

Learning languages, geography, Scrabble, first dates - and second
and third ones if you're lucky, baking strawberry rhubarb pies,
anything involving memorization, witty banter - at times.
The first things people usually notice about me
I go through periods of time where people will randomly approach me
and say, "Has anyone ever told you that you look like Jodie
Foster?" Apparently, I'm rocking her look - though hopefully how
she looked about 20 years ago...

Middlesex, The Secret Life of Bees, In the Time of Butterflies, Harry Potter, One Hundred Years of Solitude, The Cider House Rules - though I admit I haven't finished it yet but still love it, Vonnegut stuff.
Movies:
Amelie, L'auberge espagnole, Pump Up the Volume, Juno, Slumdog Millionaire, Prime, Zoolander, 13 Going on 30, Superbad, Volver.
Music:
Regina Spektor, Modest Mouse, Vienna Teng, Pearl Jam - old school stuff, Orishas, Of Montreal, Bloc Party, Manu Chao, Tegan and Sara, Belle & Sebastian, Radiohead.
I also like NPR a lot - it's not music but it is something I listen to regularly.

The six things I could never do without
Not counting basic necessities:

People I care about, issues I care about (mostly having to do with
social justice in some capacity), what I'm doing today, what I'm
doing this weekend, one of the places I hope to travel to soon:
Argentina, Greece, Thailand, Bali...
On a typical Friday night I am
Really depends. Sometimes I'm out and about. Other times, I'm in
watching a movie, catching up and cooking with a friend or two,
playing a game like Scrabble or Last Word.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I told you all that one of my favorite movies is 13 Going on 30.
