My self-summary
Okay! Let me write about me. Let's see.

I guess I'm quite a reflective person. I think all the time but it usually leads to nowhere because I go from A to Z and all the way back to C when I've reached T and oh, R got in the way, and yeah, you get my drift. Most of the time, I talk a bit too much but I have a lot to say (ho ho ho), so that's fine. I'm awfully optimistic, so much I like to lose touch with reality. On the other hand, I tend to get quite cynical and a bit jaded, I'd suppose. My main field of work is science, though, so that's understood.

Currently I'm on a bit of a "trip" to find out who I am and what the fuck I'm doing. That means I quit my job for now and just travel about with my pug, Hannibal. Perhaps I'll pursue a career in music but I'm not sure yet. We shall see.

My friends seem to think I'm really funny but that is debatable. I like being really snarky and sarcastic, but it's all in good spirit. Once I was told I was witty and that flattered me beyond belief.

Yeah. I was born in Germany to a German mother, so I speak German fluently if any Germans would like to come forward. My father is from Louisiana and speaks mostly French but also English, as you can see.

I'm not as pretentious as most people would have you believe and I really enjoy cheeseburgers and chocolate. Not combined, mind you.

I am talkative, open, and artsy
What I’m doing with my life
As I said in the summary, I'm not sure yet. I figure I'm only 20, so I don't need to be 150% sure of what I want to do with the remaining 50 or so years of my life.

In case anything bad happens, I have a science degree in my pocket, because I'm one of the sharper knives in the drawer (ho ho ho), but I guess I'll end up making music. As much as I love science, music is better.
I’m really good at
Baking, causing a fuss and writing about who I really am.
The first things people usually notice about me
That I'm quite smiley and that albeit my tendency to ramble on like nuts, I'm rather reserved towards strangers. In real life, that is.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books! Man, I love books. I read anything I can get my hands on but my current and all-time favorites include: Jonathan Safran Foer, David Sedaris, Bernhard Schlink, Andrew Sean Greer, Alice Chambers, Alexander Pushkin, Herman Hesse, Thomas Mann, Carlos Ruiz Zafon, Alexandre Dumas (both), Lion Feuchtwanger, Patrick Süskind and many more.

In regards to films, I watch pretty much anything that's not too cheesy or brainless. I really, really enjoyed Science of Sleep and 300, although one might argue that that is the most brainless movie of all time but hey, it looks nice. Plus, I love anything Ed Wood's ever made and generally, dig old horror and sci-fi movies. French films are high up on my list as well. The more obscure, the better.

Music is much of the same to me. Most of mine is rather indie or electronica, but I like rock music just fine and wouldn't be caught dead listening to say, Mariah Carey. As of late, I've developed a taste for really bad pop music but my friend informs me that is quite scene. Whatever. I'll just list a few bands I like: Mellowdrone (a lot, a lot, a lot), Menomena, Xiu Xiu, Biffy Clyro, Ratatat, Uh Huh Her, Ellen Allien, Malajube, Oh No! Oh My!, The Sea and Cake, Mew, Casiotone For the Painfully Alone, Grandaddy, Islands, Shitdisco, Mute Math, etc.

Food? Love it. Give me more. Unless it's most kinds of fish. I really don't like fish.
