Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Louisiana girl in California by way of Chicago. Typical interests
include camping, dog walking, reading, sci fi, firearms, art,
spirituality. Non typical interests possibly include bone
collecting, anatomy, cross stitch.
Three of the most important things to me are my family, my faith,
and my pets. Family all lives in other states, so I've gotten more
adept at phone tag and FaceTime. Faith is everyday, from KLOVE
radio to just saying "Thanks, God. Appreciate that one." every once
and a while. Pets think they rule the house. I haven't found
evidence to the contrary yet, though I continue to search.
I read quite a bit (love science fiction and fantasy) - Amazon is
both my best friend and greatest nemesis, and I'm iffy on whether
Kindle helped or encouraged my problem. Although being able to
travel to Mongolia with enough books to read in both directions
(and while traveling) was a huge plus, so I've been giving it the
benefit of the doubt.
If I could work while camping (possibly with a wi fi
connection...), it's quite possible that my coworkers would never
see me except on alternate Tuesdays. Lucky for them, no one can
truly camp that often so I'm stuck in the office rather than
frolicking in nature all the time. I'm trying to get healthier so I
can eventually backpack. It's a long term goal.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Walking. A lot more than I used to.
I draw and work in 3D for my job, so that's a plus. I'm a Medical
Artist at the Stanford Clinical Anatomy department. Medical
illustration is the perfect blend of science and art for me.
When I'm not walking or at work, I'm usually at home. Serving my
feline overlords or reading or killing dragons in Skyrim.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Fixing things. Listening to people. Pretending to clean the house.
Providing a garden for the local wildlife to munch on. Killing
dragons in Skyrim.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I laugh a lot... and I have brown hair. Maybe not in that
I love wearing boots when I'm not walking into work in order. I get
distracted by good photo opportunities and jump around in my
thought processes. And I love animals.

*Most anything Sci Fi/Fantasy/Discovery style documentary
Books/Authors: L.E. Modesiit, Jim Butcher, Megan
Derr, Mercedes Lackey, S.M. Stirling, Heinlein... and most things
sci fi/fantasy. I enjoyed Hunger Games and I'm a sucker for
Movies: Action. Aliens. (the movies and the theme
in general...) Fifth Element. Avengers. Movies by Ken Burns. Pixar.
Disney. Resident Evil. Avatar. How to Train your Dragon.
Shows: I am a sucker for nature documentaries. And
Deadliest Catch, Dirty Jobs, Mythbusters, Cops, Forensic Files...
Need I mention sci fi again? I'm just as likely to watch something
like Firefly as Breaking Bad as NCIS as Eureka as Stargate as
Avatar the Last Air Bender as American Pickers...
Music: Christian rock, Celtic Rock, Classic rock,
instrumentals with a good beat (I'm in love with Lindsey Stirling
right now)... I may have to admit to liking dub step.
Food: Hmmm... Strawberries. Seriously. Generally
not vegetables. I'll try them, but I have a hard time finding ones
I like. I don't mind eating with vegetarians at all, my best friend
is one, but I typically have some sort of carnivorous by-product on
my plate. I typically eat my veggies in a smoothie. With fruits. So
I don't actually have to taste them. And despite originating from
Louisiana, I'm not hugely into spicy foods. I get the 'mild' option
in Indian restaurants, that's for sure.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The zombie apocalypse. Or, really... TEOTWAWKI.
And why things work. I analyze a lot of things, and generally
spring them on people out of the blue. I have the odd tendency to
memorize traffic light cycles, for example. And I never get tired
of trying to figure out the 'why' of things.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
At home, usually after taking a hike/walk with the dog. I am such a
Or camping. I'd rather be camping.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm not bi-sexual, although that is the closest match on this site.
I self define as pan-sexual, which is most easily and concisely
defined as 'gender-blind'. While this has been an interesting and
somewhat difficult thing to come to grips with in terms of my
faith, it is who I am.
And I love Deadliest Catch. And Cops.... It's ridiculous,
And I read fanfiction.
