My self-summary Propose an edit
I'm brown, oblong, have nice eyes, and you shouldn't eat my
sprouts. Oh wait, nevermind, that's a potato.
What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit
So...just moved back to The Valley to pursue a career as a Math
(and Science eventually) teacher. It was time for a change and now
I'm going to make it happen.
My Agile Dauntless electric guitar arrived a few months ago so I'm
working on checking off that particular to do list item! Can't wait
to rock out with some Bad Religion, RHCP, and Avenged Sevenfold.
I'm taking it slow though and learning the basics properly so I
don't hit that wall and have to relearn everything after getting
some bad habits.
Let's see what else...getting in shape, cooking up a storm, and
teaching students to beat the MCAT. Hearing from students who are
accepted to medical schools makes me incredibly happy.
To Do List:
-Walk on the moon and watch the Earth rise in the sky above
-Mountain bike down a ski trail (check)
-Climb the Parthenon (check)
-Earn a degree (check, double check, maybe future checks?)
-Have a pet Koala
-Visit every continent
-Read every book written by Robert Heinlein (almost there!)
-Learn to snowboard (check, though it's been a few years)
-River Raft down class IV rapids (check)
-Visit Chichen Itza on the summer solstice to see the serpent
appear
-Backpack in Europe
-Explore the burial tomb of one of the Great Pyramids in Giza
(check)
-Vegas for New Year's (check)
-Sky dive
-Learn to play the guitar (in progress!)
-Learn to speak more Spanish than "OH MY GOD THE CHICKEN IS ON
FIRE!"
-Have awesome friends I can trust with my life (check)
-Start this to do list (check)
-Finish this to do list
I'm really good at Propose an edit
Having the ability to recognize when my current path in life
doesn't lead to where I want to be and having the courage to do
something about it. It's taken a while to figure out that the only
real passion I've ever had for a job was with my part time teaching
gig. Thus, I took and passed all three subtests of the Math CSET in
July, and I'm working toward having a full time teaching job by the
end of the year!

Food: In general, the spicier the food, the more I like it. I'm
somewhat picky but it doesn't get in the way of finding something
to eat anywhere I go out. I tend to make my spicy chicken with bell
pepper stir fry at least three times a week so I guess that would
be considered my favorite.
The six things I could never do without Propose an edit
The evenings playing apples to apples or guitar hero with my
friends, a new book to read and stretch the imagination, a fully
stocked kitchen, Sundays rooting for the Chargers, the stars on a
cloudless night, and the naïve hope I'll one day travel amongst
them.
I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit
just how much progress I'll be fortunate enough to see in my
lifetime. It is beyond exciting to think about how close we are to
entering the era of truly pioneering our solar system...and
eternally frustrating to see so much wasted time and effort
fighting with each other over petty differences when we should be
reaching out together into the unknown.
