After decades in St Louis offices, I have retreated across the
river to take control of the family enterprises. Now it's my chore
to modernize and update things which has been a challenge in this
economy, but challenges are good. Being my own boss, I always have
time to set my own schedule which always includes a mix of city and
country activities....city for great food, entertainment and
culture...country for peace, quiet, star-lit nights and freedom
from neighborly intrusion.

I am definitely not a fan of conflict - it is a useless waste, and hardly ever accomplishes anything. I do try to accommodate those I am around. I realized a long time ago that when the people around me are happy, life is much more enjoyable. I probably do go the extra mile to help people enjoy life around me. But that certainly doesn't mean I allow people to push me around or take advantage of me. I prefer to say I pick my battles carefully, and always go into battle prepared to win...and win, I usually do.
I have flown planes all across the country. I have raced sports cars at professional tracks all across the central section of the nation and have shared the tracks with a number of drivers commonly thought to be among the best racers in the country. I am no wall flower, and not afraid to mix it up when I want to, but I am constantly reminded of the phrase from the Tom Cruise movie, Top Gun, in which his carrier commander reprimanded him by warning him that "His mouth was writing checks that his mind can't cash." I definitely prefer to live my life making sure that my mouth writes only those checks that my mind can cash.
So if you're looking for someone to share the adventure that lies ahead, give me a chance. I know we can have some good times ahead.
