Oh, and english not being my mother language, please pardon any mistake you could find (you can even notice me if you find some, that would be nice).
Working as a network and telecommunications technician (read: yet another geek who works with computers and wires), I'm pretty glad I found a job I like. Actually it is not only a job, but more like a passion.
But as you may not know, this is not only about nerdy technical stuff, weird hardware and lines of code. I am talking about politics here: some political choices have an influence on how as citizen we will be able in the future to use the network to communicate, learn, and make our voice heard. I believe it is important to be vigilant about that, to ensure that our digital freedom (and in fact, freedom in general) isn't violated by stupid laws nor given for free to private companies. You may for example visit http://www.laquadrature.net/ to see more accurately what I'm talking about.
Apart from this bit of computer (h)activism, I'm also interested in sociology, the most important part being things like feminism and gender studies. It's sad that people get discriminated or forced into specific roles depending on their gender, it's really annoying that societies consider gender to be such an important thing. I believe it would be way better if it was not seen as more significant than eye color.
Other activities I do on a more or less regular basis are playing video games, browsing the web and learn unusual useless facts, drinking beer or tea, trying to make new friends, having sex (I'm into this BDSM thing), and going to these kind of night-long parties where they play psytrance or music like that (there must be an english word for this but I fail to remenber it right now). I also like to go to conferences.
I think I'm an open-minded person (but of course who wouldn't say so ?), and I like to believe there are a lot of interesting things or cool hobbies I don't know yet.
Regarding comics, I like "Calvin and Hobbes", "Dilbert", and "Le Chat". I also like xkcd (not a book but still a comics).
I don't watch much movies either, but the ones I liked include American History X, C'est arrivé près de chez vous, Dobermann, Enfermés dehors, L'effet papillon, Leon, Lord of war, Munich, Phone game, Sin City, Trainspotting... pretty classic I guess. I haven't been to cinema for ages, because it's expensive and I don't think it is THAT better than watching a movie at home (except maybe for spectacular ones such as Lord of the rings, but I'm not really into that anymore).
Regarding music now, I would say that I appreciate mostly calm stuff such as (electro-)ambient (for example Aes dana, Carbon based lifeforms, Desiderii Marginis, Boards of canada), IDM (Apparat, Aphex twin), post-rock (GY!BE, Do make say think), and other things I don't know which category they belong to (Philip Glass, Penguin cafe orchestra). Icelandic stuff such as Mùm, Sigur Rós or Amiina is awesome too.
I also like to listen to death or heavy metal sometimes (Gojira, Black label society, Iron maiden) , as well as 90's electro (Chemical Brothers, Orbital, The future sound of london), dub, triphop and classical music.
When I can't decide what to listen to, I turn http://somafm.com/dronezone/ on and I enjoy it (oher channels are cool to).
Finally, food. Food is not really important to me, I could eat the same thing about everyday without missing anything, and in fact I somewhat do it already. The fact is that I'm pretty picky and that I dislike most food I know, so I'm not very curious nor enthusiastic about it.
On the other hand, I often find good old cheese on bread (when both are picked carefully) to be awesome as well as pasta with home-made tomato sauce for example. I'm more into basic stuff actually.
I happen to be vegetarian as much as possible, mostly for ecological reasons.

If you have read any good book related to sociology, I would be very interested to know.
If you know a particularly cool (and non-overcrowded) pub in Paris, I would be interested too.
If you have a cool pet such as lizard, axolotl, tortoise or hippo and would like to show me.
If you happen to be yourself a lizard, axolotl, tortoise or hippo (and I will not take your word on that - pics or it didn't happen).
If you noticed a mistake in this page and would like to tell me so that I can correct.
Also I'm fine with english (at least I hope so), but I speak french better.
