My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am the prince of an underwater aquatic race of merpeople. I have come among you, the people of the earth, to look for help, for my people are being eaten by an evil sea creature called the Kraken and it is now that I ask awww who the hell am I kidding? It's just kinda boring to write a self summary.

Okay. A better self summary. I can take it easy when that's called for, and I can get right down to it, when that is what's called for. I love books, all things books, book stores, the way a page feels, in a way that is, I hope, charming. I also love making food for pals. I am against ignorance. I am against laziness. But it is not laziness to listen to records all afternoon while laying on the floor with the tunes loud and good, no, that is a total action of the heart. I am for progressive politics. I am for pragmatism. I'm happiest when making things, you can tell when I'm happiest, because that is when the making of things is happening. I kinda dig making almost anything. For instance, I made a huge paper airplane the other day and threw it from my deck. Mostly I make stories though. And food. For pals. But I already mentioned that. I like drinking beer, and I like drinking coffee, and I like drinking juice. I don't particularly enjoy going shopping, but I don't exactly dislike it either. It's just one of those things you gotta do from time to time. I don't watch tv, but I would watch tv if you wanted to watch tv. I'd probably rub your shoulders while we watched tv if you wanted, but I wouldn't be above begging for a shoulder rub in return. I would also probably start a tickle war just so I could flirt with you. I really like to watch movies, at the movies, and there's always popcorn. There's just something about movies and popcorn, right? I like dancing. Sometimes it's pretty great to just dance around and not give a shit about it. Sometimes it's great to go dancing with as many of the people as you love as is possible. I like dogs, and Christmas morning with my family before we open the presents. I liked playing guitar until five am three years ago for my birthday with my younger brother. I like ice cream, french fries, I used to like flying kites when I was a boy and imagine I still would.

Okay. That's good. That's probably good. Anyway, it's the best I can do for now.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I write letters to people. Sometimes to people I know, sometimes. people I don't know. I also draw all sorts of cartoons, and write all sorts of stories about all sorts of things.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Knowing where every bookstore and cafe in the city is and making us walk towards them totally secretly.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm constantly reading. It sounds like a joke, or that I'm just saying something to impress, but really, I'm constantly reading. Like if you go to put your jacket away I'll probably take the few seconds while you're gone and I'll begin reading. Really.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
It's more about favorite authors than it is about favorite books: Roberto Bolano; Jack Kerouac; Haruki Murakami; Dave Eggers; Junot Diaz; Walt Whitman; Herman Melville; Ernest Hemingway; David Harvey; Walter Benjamin; J. Ralston Saul; Peter Matthieson; Jack London; Hannah Arendt; Albert Camus; Mordechai Richler; Sean Dixon; D.F. Wallace; Rick Moody; Umberto Eco;Howard Zinn; Sheila Heti; Noam Chomsky; Naomi Klein; Julia Kristeva; John Brandon; Charles Bukowski; Al Purdy (the list just sort of goes on and on...)

Do you like horror movies? If you do you absolutely must watch VHS. Blew my mind. If you don't like horror movies because they terrify you and you stay up all night thinking about it then you should watch VHS. It's good clean family entertainment. Be forewarned though, you should watch it alone at midnight in your room with the lights off.

And I cook food like a blue streak. I'm a phenom.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My chef knife
My trusty bicycle
Not giving a fuck
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Uhm... politics, literature, and how to spend more time taking it easy. I think I've stretched the taking it easy to its limit, but I'm hoping that quantum physics will find a new and better secret dimension where taking it easy is a form of work. I will excel at that kind of work.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Either drinking at a pub, I can't stand the crazy crowds so usually small-ish less well known pubs, unless I'm watching a band, in which case the more the merrier, or I'm reading or writing something.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I played Dungeons & Dragons when I was in elementary school. And in high school. And I killed a man once.

You like listening to music and reading interesting things and talking about those two things while drinking beer or coffee, or first coffee and then beer.
