Fuck that, isn't that what the rest of the questions are supposed to add up to be? Quit giving me busywork, assholes.
At least this lets you know that I curse like a sailor right off the bat, if nothing else.
What I’m doing with my life
Moved from Tennessee to Texas several years ago, and now I'm doing the whole adulthood thing without actually being an adult. I can pay my bills on time and keep my shit together, but I'm still learning how to make vapid small talk with coworkers without also making a bored face.
I’m really good at
Talking to people. Relating to people. Making everyone feel comfortable. Reading. Spellin'. (seriously. champion speller) Crosswords. Ice skating. Braving my fears to try stuff people tell me is "sooo great, dude." Grammar. Board games - but not the Monopoly variety. Ask me about my sweet collection of tabletop games (and my love of Wil Wheaton's Tabletop series).
The first things people usually notice about me
If we're being honest here, you know from my pictures that it's going to be "boobs". On the less carnal end of things, my hair is always something different. The color changes monthly, if not more often. Also, I'm usually the first to come up and say hello, so I imagine that's fairly noticeable! But I'm not bubbly or perky; those people exhaust me.
Everyone always says "my eyes," but trust me, that's not the first thing anyone notices about anyone.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I love Stephen King - especially the Dark Tower series. Also super into Robin Hobb, Lois McMaster Bujold, and obviously George R. R. Martin like the rest of the world.
I really liked The Departed. But usually I go for thinking movies like Mulholland Drive, and Memento, and things like that. I feel useless when I'm watching a movie that requires me to do nothing but stare at the pretty pictures on the screen. If you've seen The Fall and you liked it, talk to me.
Shows, I go with Game of Thrones, Deadwood, Justified, Firefly, Battlestar Galactica (I know, I know, don't judge), Star Trek (TNG and DS9), Parks and Rec, No Reservations, Kitchen Nightmares, Girls, and I'm hanging on by a thread trying to stay interested in The Walking Dead.
Music-wise, I'm pretty broadly ranged. I listen to everything from The Smiths to She&Him to Bon Iver to Tool to Guster to Martina McBride to Tom Petty to Kenny Rogers to Sum41. I have no shame.
If a food has chicken, cheese, or pasta in it, I can be counted on to put it in my mouth. Buuuut I'm working on including salad in that rotation.
The six things I could never do without
-My book collection
-My cell phone
-Aaaand, my Squaresoft games.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
world peace. Or something.
On a typical Friday night I am
drinking wine, reading a book, watching Netflix/HBO/Amazon Instant, and thinking "I should really get out of the house."
Yeah, I went literal with this one, sorry. Should have gone with the old "friends/bars/chilling" standby. Shit.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I cried at the end of The Notebook. I'll kill anyone who spills
