My self-summary
I grew up around here, and took way too long getting my life together! I would eventually like to leave this area and go somewhere cooler, like Europe or New Zealand.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a graduate student at George Washington University here in DC. I'll probably be another 2 years here at least. My life is basically school oriented (pursuit of knowledge, etc.)

I'm attempting to find balance in my life; which means learning how to cook something I will actually want to eat when I'm done in the kitchen, and maybe home improvement in general.
I’m really good at
Mathematics. And that's about it. Several years ago I must have done a deal with the Devil to get really smart at math in exchange for everything else.
The first things people usually notice about me
I pace when I think. I've had to do it since I was a kid in order to concentrate. I can try to control it but its like telling a fidgeter to stop moving.
I think people also notice that I'm a nice person, although definitely not the most socially adept.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I have become less a reader of fiction in the past couple years and more a reader of technical junk. When I was reading novels and such I liked mostly immigrant or foreign fiction (for example Amy Tan, Milan Kundera). For some reason I can't get down with most American authors. I like contemporary poetry.

Movies I have liked: Spirited Away (anime film, really liked the magical castle/bathhouse), the Matrix movies, Dark City, Indochine (French movie about the end of the colonial era in Vietnam). I watched Fellini Satyricon for the second time on Netflix, which is really a conceptually amazing film.

I don't watch TV, which I know is strange. This is the golden era of TV programming - there are so many orignal concept shows - but I just can never sit still enough to watch them.

Music I like: House music, and film scores. I'm a dweeb when it comes to music literacy. I have no idea what the current bands are or what's going on in the scene.

Food: I don't discriminate. I like creative vegan food, although I am not vegan.
The six things I could never do without
books, air conditioning in the summer, powerful computers, coffee from a french press, fruit, the chance to fantasize about vacations in other countries (mostly Iceland and Germany).
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Various mathematical topics.

How to eventually make a lot of money. I've thought about going into financial math for the sole purpose of running a hedge fund for non-profits and NGO's. But maybe also to afford a really big house where all my friends can live.

A castle in the sky (I have a dream of constructing a giant cantilever on the side of a mountain, and shrouding it in fake clouds, and then building a castle on top of the cantilever.) Also, rigging up a remote control toy truck with some of those USB foam missile launchers and setting them loose on one of my favorite professors in the department.
On a typical Friday night I am
I am probably working (lame I know.. but I'm always working)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Ask me and I'll come up with something.
