I am tired, cynical, and amused.

My Self-Summary

I have no idea what or how dating websites work, to be completely honest. But I realized after graduating college, the only ways to meet new/interesting people were either at work or at bars. And mostly, those people were 'annoying' or 'sketchy'.
Also, as of right this second I'm not 100% sure I'm looking for "dates", but I am 100% looking for "friends". If that is going to be a problem, I'm not sure what to tell you. Except maybe 'bye!' ...?

What I’m doing with my life

Oh my christ, I have no idea. Currently working 2 part-time jobs that have nothing to do with my Fine Arts degree. I seem to, like many mid-20-something's, have plateaued into not knowing what to do with my life, and just working to sustain a lifestyle. We'll see how that goes.

I’m really good at

diffusing a situation with humor. Being awkward (gold medal finalist.) Yelling at my dog to get off the couch. Judging amature photography (harshly.) Holding entire conversations with my roommate using just our eyebrows.

The first things people usually notice about me

my height, I suppose? I'm really not that sure.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

books:
I've been slacking on reading new books lately, but I usually go for young adult books (I have no shame.) I've also read 90% of all Christopher Moore's books. I have about 4 books I'm reading all at once and always adding more to them. I deeply enjoy literature, books are friends not food, etc.

movies:
horror. comedy. comedic horror. bad 90's/early-00's teen-buddy-movies. 80's classics. Snatch, Lock Stock & 2 Smoking Barrels, Indiana Jones trilogy, Star Wars trilogy, Brotherhood of the Wolf, Empire Records, The Faculty, Secretary, Boondock Saints, The Shadow, 28 Days Later, Young Frankenstein, Hackers, Groundhog Day, Three Amigos, Fletch, Serenity, District B13, The Sunshine, Grind, Zombie Strippers, Snakes on a Plane, Flight of the Living Dead.

they didn't say anything about tv shows, but those are really important too:
Venture Brothers, The Mighty Boosh, Bones, Castle, Greek (no. shame.), It's Always Sunny, iCarly (ask me why it rocks.), Ace of Cakes, Robot Chicken, Mythbusters, Dirty Jobs, anything else i can catch on reruns/download somewhere (100% legal. of course.)
(also: Arrested Development, Firefly)

music:
Eclectic. I hate when people say they'll listen to anything, but I will at least try anything once. And then give you an honestly brutal opinion of it, with no consideration of history or merit. Cuz I'm mean like that.
mostly, I enjoy rock. And things I can dance around to/flail in the pit like a crazy person to.

food:
People have told me that I am picky, but I don't believe them at all. I'm expanding my horizons lately, and will again probably try something once, but never expect me to actually like it all. I love Italian, Thai, Greek, Tex-Mex (not mexican, there is SUCH a difference.). I don't like seafood, which makes my friends sad at me. I'm okay with that.

The six things I could never do without

ipod/itunes/music, my silly dog, dark chocolate, my car, a phone/means of communication, money to get me where I need to be I guess?

I spend a lot of time thinking about

the future. What I'm going to do when I get off work. Who is in town for me to call. What the weather is like in San Fransisco right now. Whether plane tickets to New York would be feasible right now or not. How many more miles my car can actually stand to take from me before it bites the dust. The airspeed difference between European and African swallows.

On a typical Friday night I am

either closing at work, curling up in bed to read/relax with my dog, or out and about with friends at a movie or bar. I'm not sure that counts as 'typical' because that's a lot of options. But I don't do one thing on Fridays?

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I have strong misgivings about dating websites, but I'm willing to give it a shot. That's about as private as we're getting because I think I know too many people that lurk around here...

You should message me if

you have good movie recs. Seriously, I've been out of the loop for a while now, I need to get back in!!
