I moved from northern Minnesota (or southern Canada, as some think of it) to escape Midwestern mediocrity, and I love exploring this awesome city. I work in engineering and like to spend my waking, non-working hours climbing, wrestling with my dog, and building things.
I have a tendency to ramble nonsensically in a stream-of-consciousness sort of way when something is amusing. I only hope that others around me enjoy the commentary somewhat.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm just trying to get some job experience now. I'm not really sure what I plan on doing even a year from now.
I’m really good at
sarcasm. I wouldn't say I'm really good at
anything. You know, the more you learn, the more you realize you
don't know. I'm passable at skiing and I enjoy building things like
furniture or whatever needs creating. I know a few great recipes to
cook but I've also had to order takeout after a few culinary
Wait. I take that back. I will put my humility aside and admit I am
good at one thing. I am the gift master. I'll explain.
The first things people usually notice about me
is that I have a beard. And within that beard is usually a smile.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Anything sci-fi is usually pretty fun (i don't know what "sci-fi food" is, but I'd at least try it).
My favorite shows tend to be whatever I've discovered to binge. I also enjoy the old Twilight Zone, and good comedies are fun. Doctor Who and other BBC shows always work for me!
Varied musical interests, excepting pop country and whatever gospel they show on infomercials of everyone with their hands up singing. "No" to whatever that is.
Portland has such great food. I feel like I never used my taste buds before moving here. I'm willing to try just about anything.
The six things I could never do without
I spend a lot of time thinking about
-What the world will be like in 10-15 years as people embrace
science and technology
-What ridiculous things I could do if I won a large sum of
-What it would be like to see gigantic ants roaming the countryside
-How to get my dog to _______________
On a typical Friday night I am
looking to get out of the house and see/do something.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm horrible with names, so I almost never use them.
People who have the same facial expression in all of their photos deeply worry me.
You should message me if
You have any intention of meeting; we can certainly chat but I'm not looking for a pen pal. I want audible conversations with words and tone and sarcasm!
You should also answer me these questions three:
-Cake or pie?
-Favorite cartoon character that is NOT a dog?
-When did you learn Santa Claus was not real? How long were you in denial?
