I'm a formerly too-serious, overly-intellectual white dude who found my way into yoga, meditation and bodywork and am now at ease and enjoying life more than ever. I'm an Olympia native who's returned to Seattle after 10+ years away and am looking for more people to share both new and familiar experiences with.

I'm active and lazy in equal measure: running, reading, singing, hiking, playing cards, cycling, staring into space... I'm very job and career-focused at present but will always make time for friends, flirting, conversation. I'm endlessly entertained by people at their most bizarre and passionate: cultists, revolutionaries, recluses, artists. I like remote and eerie landscapes. I buy presents for other peoples' pets.

I can be random, moody and have a dark sense of humor at times--all things I appreciate in others too. I'm a decent vegetarian cook and am not afraid to sing (terribly) or dress up in public, or otherwise make a fool of myself.

I'm a Massage Therapist, and soon-to-be nursing student. I love my job, I love working with people at their most vulnerable and helping them to heal and gain a greater understanding of their minds and bodies. I also work in dispute resolution on a volunteer basis.

Current Reading: Annals Of The Former World by John McPhee and The Fiery Trail: Abraham Lincoln and American Slavery by Eric Foner. I mostly read non-fiction: history, mythology, popular science, the expressive possibilities of the human body, art, music, drama, poetry.
Movies: '40s and '50s Hollywood lately, especially early Brando, Liz Taylor, and Paul Newman. I'm a huge fan of Hitchcock, Davids Lynch and Cronenberg and Werner Herzog and weird Euro horror shit.
Music: American and European dance music. Everything from Ray Charles to Kanye West (via James Brown, Motown, ABBA, Prince). Brian Eno and esoteric Germans. Disco and House music. Kate Bush and the XX, those crazy prepubescent heartbreakers, may whichever relevant deities bless them.
Food: Veggie juice with a half-teaspoon of cayenne and 18 drops of Chlorophyll/Oxygen.

Sun (even through clouds), real made-from-paper books, Halloween, a clean & quiet space to sit once a day, compassionate touch, stimulating relationships with friends, mentors, significant others.

Somatics, bilocation, a four-square beat, the late afternoon sun fading over California's Warner Mountains, Patty Hearst, dialogue from The Long Goodbye or The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly...

Cooking, playing table games, watching movies, checking out literary or performance events, karaoke, dancing, meeting with my secret society, staying in. These are possibilities any night, I work unusual hours and don't only go out on weekends. Bars only sparingly, and only if they have great beers or wine.
