Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Follow this recipe:
Grab a Computer Science graduate from your pantry. Now remove the
pocket protector, glasses and unkempt hair.
Add in a giant love of board games! Board games, board games!
Add a pinch of personality that enjoys an intimate conversation (as
opposed to having voices drowned out within a mob).
Subtract rural living (I was disillusioned by a childhood
experience where I was the only child of my age within a radius of
10 miles), which leaves a big-city person.
Spice things up with the colour purple (I like this colour).
Excuse my British spelling, that's how I write, right?
Stir this concoction well.
And you get me.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work as a Platform Engineer at a Media company.
(What's a Platform Engineer, you ask?
Imagine I'm a blacksmith. I take the red-hot product straight from
the forge with rough faces and sharp corners and turn it into a
smoothly running system.
I'm the one responsible for "Main Screen Turn On".)
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Board games. Teaching board games : I have written testimonials
from people about how well I teach 'em! (on meetup.com) :)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I used to read a lot of fiction, but these days I find myself
gravitating towards non-fiction. However, some authors, in no
particular order include: Khalil Gibran, Issac Asimov, J R R
I listen to all genres of music, but last.fm informs me that my
most listened to artists are Kate Bush and Live - though I seem to
listen to more electronica of late.
I love food, of all types and cuisines. I do prefer my food to have
a little zing to it, but I dislike heat for the sake of making the
food hotter; it should add some flavour to the food.
I prefer salty to sweet unless it's chocolate. And in the event of
chocolate, the darker the better!
I LOVE board games. While I prefer cooperative games over
competitive ones, I play them all! Examples of board games include:
7 Wonders, Race for the Galaxy, Pandemic, Settlers of Catan.
I enjoy playing computer games, too. I play League of Legends
(currently platinum in solo queue); and Civilization V. I also
enjoy point and click adventure games. I also own a PSP Vita for on
the go gaming.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
The stuff in Maslow's pyramid, but barring the obvious
(electricity, internet, computer, shelter, hot water, food),
nothing I can't do without.
But yeah, I do like things like fountain pens...
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Learning Japanese. I can write Hiragana and kinda speak it a bit, I
need to perfect Katakana. I know a handful of Kanji, but I hope to
learn more as time progresses!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I was on the NY Post in August last year for this thing they were
doing - only one person (a coworker) recognised me from the
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
- You want to have a fun, fun time playing board games. (Don't
think boring, stodgy stuff like Monopoly. No, this is the good
stuff) (I know this really nice cafe where we could play)
- You want to visit a museum or art gallery
- You want to just hang out and have fun: I'm fun to talk to!
