I am here, there, and nowhere all at once!.

My Self-Summary

Hey there. How's it going? That's nice. Go away now.

Seriously. You aren't going to send me a message so just move along. :p

bye bye!!

My name is Micah. I was bored with my old profile. Probably too wordy anyway.

I have a good, fun job working in the IT department of a law firm. I am their only programmer so I write a lot of custom apps for them.

Deep down I'm wanting to throw it all away and live an adventure. I would LOVE to live the simple life as long as I was part of a band. That would be my dream.

I'm simple when it comes to needs and wants, I'm easy going, and I'm fun! (I hope. hah)

I'm pretty much a loner. I've only had one close friend rather than a circle of friends, and it has never been easy for me to meet and keep up with someone new.

Also a note. I play guitar, bass guitar, psultry and drums. I used to also play violin, mountain dulcimer, and keyboards but I haven't kept up with those two.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm working in an IT department for a law firm as I said earlier. I work as much as I can because I'm the only responsible one of my siblings so I am working hard to take care of my parents.

I'm seeking a change. I don't care what kind of change, but a change. I might be moving some time next year. I don't know where, I don't care where. (Most likely options: Houston TX, Columbus OH, or Torrance CA because I can keep my current job if I move to one of those)

I’m really good at

Finding humor in everything.

Being deep and random at the same time.

I'm extremely good at not only naming a band within thirty seconds of a song starting, but also naming the song, the album the song was on, and the year the album came out. I'm working on being able to tell which track number the song is as well.

I'm good with instruments. If I haven't played it before, I can promise you I'll have picked out a tune within five minutes. I want to design and make my own instruments... eventually.

I've been told I am good at singing. I do enjoy it, but I feel too many people put too much focus on singers, so I do it only when I feel it is necessary (so no Karaoke unless I'm uber drunk).

I'm good at making people feel at ease, relaxed.

I'm good at picking the right music for what ever mood.

I'm good at noticing things that are often overlooked.

I'm good at reading fine print. I once read a form that said "Anyone over 18 and a US citizen can win. Citizens from Canada must answer a series of questions before being eligible." Nice!

I am very good at listening/reading.

Speaking my mind. Being open about my thoughts and feelings. And being able to do both of these without using a single expletive. Seriously, too many people are afraid to say "I like you" or "I love you." I agree they should only be said when truly meant, but I have NEVER had a problem saying it.

Faking accents. Both speaking and singing in them.

The first things people usually notice about me

When around people... How quiet I am. When one-on-one... how I never shut up! :p
It is pretty much impossible to bring me down. And... sadly, people who get to know me generally like me. And I'm reversed. I like people until I get to know them. (Hey! that person is really nice to those around them. Might be someone to get to know! Oh, wait. Nope. They kill puppies.)

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Oh good lord, this could be long.

Favorite books: I really enjoy reading from authors such as J.R.R. Tolkien]], [George R. R. Martin, Jim Butcher, Orson Scott Card, Glen Cook, Charles de Lint, David Gemmell so on and so forth. Silmarillion, The First Chronicles of Druss the Legend, The Black Company, Song of Ice and Fire Trilogy, The Redwall series, and many more than I care to mention right now. I should also note that I hate rereading a book. It causes me to get depressed as I already know the ending and it takes away the enjoyment. So I now read more than one book at once so that my memory will merge the two or more and I can reread it and not remember what happens. Works pretty good.

Favorite movies... The Dark Crystal, Donnie Darko, Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind, Big Fish, Finding Neverland, Lord of the Rings (all three), Rat Race, Amelie, Pan's Labrenth, Arsenic and Old Lace, Evolution, The Court Jester, American Dreamer, Oscar, Hellboy 2, Pure Luck, Opportunity Knocks, Darby O'Gill and the Little People. Yes, there are many more, no I can't think of all of them right now, maybe later. But honestly, I'm more a book and music kind of guy rather than a movie guy.

TV. I do not have cable or an antenna, and I do not miss it at all. If there is a series I'd like to watch, that's what Hulu is for.

Favorite Music: The styles of music I enjoy are alternative, classical, new age, trip-hop, blues, jazz, rock, techno, shoegazing, old school hip-hop. But it is easier to say I listen to everything. However, I have aversion towards pop, R&B, and the newer rap.

Food. Changes with moods and wants, but generally, anything other than seafood, though if I had it enough I'd probably like it too. I seriously want to go completely vegan, and I would gladly appreciate any words of encouragement in that direction as most I know criticize such an idea.

The six things I could never do without

Clean Air
Good (spicy) Food
Clean Water
Good Books
Good Music
Some way for me to express myself (pencil & paper or musical instrument)

I spend a lot of time thinking about

I spend a lot of time thinking about how I can spend so much time thinking about so little (please note the sarcasm there) I can over-think things, probably because I like planning ahead. So if I know something is coming up I will be thinking about it.

I also think random things. There was an episode of Pinky And The Brain where you got to see things from Pinky's point of view. His mind and mine work so much alike. If you ask me how my day was, it makes perfect sense to reply about why flamingo's look funny standing on one leg, and then demonstrate that I can do it too for extended periods of time. It's not that I find you boring, it's just that what I imagined you saying was so much more interesting than what you just said! (again, please note the sarcasm)

One of my finer moments was when I was working my old second job. Without actually knowing what I was thinking, I suddenly said "Skittles Deodorant. Smell the armpit. Taste the armpit!" Does it make sense? No, and yet a resounding... yes.

On a typical Friday night I am

Online... listening to music, reading, sleeping, playing some random instrument. Any of those... sometimes all of them at the same time.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm not really private about information. If you want to know something, then ask. Lame, I know since I'm supposed to write it rather than say ask.

I'm very very close to just logging off all together. Women on here have no reason/need to whine about not being able to find "a nice guy" just FYI.

You should message me if

If you got this far down the profile.
But hopefully you followed my advice and quickly left my profile. In which case you won't be reading this, which is good! Because I... don't want you reading this. Obviously.
