My self-summary
I'm a thoughtful and caring person, and maybe I'm a little old fashioned, but I still believe in a bit of chivalry. I like to open doors and do little things to make the woman I'm with feel special.

I've been told that I'm silly, smart, smiley, kind, down-to-earth, funny, attractive and easy to talk to (and it wasn't my mom saying that!). Integrity is important to me; I'm a man of my word and can be trusted and counted on implicitly and I greatly respect that in others. I'm often silly and try to keep things light (I've embraced my inner geek), but I'm also mature enough to know when it's time to be serious and dig in. I'm a dedicated and devoted person, whether it's work, play, being a father, or a partner. If I do something I put in 100% and always try to do my best. I'm, hardworking, and like to stay active, and enjoy doing pretty much anything outdoors; hiking, biking, camping, surfing, kitesurfing, etc. I'd much rather be doing than watching. I've skied all of my life and it's an important part of my life, and it would be great to find someone who enjoys skiing too. As much as I love the outdoors, I'm not a hardcore adrenaline junkie. I also enjoy quieter activites closer to home. I'd like to aspire to be a renaissance man but I think I'm more of a Jack-of-all-trades master of some. Good food, good conversation, and good beer are a holy trinity. I'm usually up for pretty much anything...who I'm doing something with is more important than what I'm doing.

I'm well (over?) educated, and I value education. Not that a degree is important in and of itself, but hopefully you know the proper use of their, they're, and there. I mean, it's the difference between knowing your shit and knowing you're shit. That being said, for all my education I absolutely suck at proofreading my own writing, so hopefully I haven't made some glaring grammatical error here that makes me look and sound like an arrogant pinhead!

I guess my ideal match is someone who I feel at ease talking with first time we meet. Someone who also likes to be active and likes (or at least doesn't dislike) the outdoors. Someone who has an interest in the world around them. Intelligence, confidence, and being down-to-earth are all incredibly sexy, and a sense of humor is a must....bonus points if it's a sarcastic one! Having common interests and tastes is great, but I can also appreciate independent interests and activities. I'm not looking to rush into anything, but ultimately I am looking for a relationship with long-term future potential.
What I’m doing with my life
I have a good job that I enjoy and feel like I'm doing something that makes a difference. When I'm not working, I like to stay active, especially something outdoors
I’m really good at
I like making people laugh, and often find it hard to be serious...life is serious enough! My strategy to deal with life is being laid back and easygoing. I inject humor into pretty much everything...although at times my sense of humor is a bit on the quirky side. I'll make you laugh. I guarantee it. If I don't...well then we're not a very good match.
The first things people usually notice about me
well I suppose it's either my movie-star good looks and amazing intellect, or the fact that I'm so humble.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood is one of my favorites, I also liked Three Cups of Tea (and I don't really care if it was embellished or not). The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. I really like non-fiction: recent reads include The Wave, The Golden Spruce, and Your Inner Fish

Movies: I generally lean towards indie or foreign movies, but sometimes there's some good flicks that come out of Hollywood. I've liked most of Clint Eastwood's newer movies (Million Dollar Baby, Gran Torino, Invictus).

Music: My musical tastes are varied, but I like a lot of older stuff: Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, classic Motown, The Beatles, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Count Basie. I've been on a bit of a funk/soul/R&B kick lately...both old skool and some newer stuff. I even like some rap/hip hop (Cypress Hill, Fatboy Slim, Macklemore)

Food: I like lots of stuff and will eat mostly anything...I could live on burritos, but also like Thai, Indian, Hungarian, Italian, oh yeah...and BBQ! Call me uncouth or uncultured, but I don't like mushrooms or olives.
The six things I could never do without
Ibuprofen
Skiing
Living near the mountains
Living near the ocean
Laughing
Good beer
friends and family
(OK that's 7, but I couldn't choose between beer and ibuprofen)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
whether an agnostic, dyslexic, insomniac would lie awake at night wondering if there really is a dog...
On a typical Friday night I am
Either going out with friends, or spending quality time with my boys
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I store my climbing skins in the refrigerator. They live next to the beer....
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 32–43
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
you love to laugh, you like to ski, and you're currently breathing (and ventilators don't count). Oh yeah and if you're not psycho, that would be a plus. (a sense of humor is obviously a help too)
