My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
.... looking for my best friend: smart, funny, non judgmental, caring, and educated. I can negotiate the many ways.

I welcome drama.... Yes, you read that right. Not the OKC ultimate FU: closing-account-thing-before-we-meet. No. I'm talking about real drama. Life is about challenge, about struggle, and getting what you want, and that means people get hurt, not on purpose, but because challenges are not always about winning. It's about grit and sacrifice. This is why there are therapists populating my field. We want to believe our own hype, and make our mark. But I'm not sure life would be as rich and spectacular without making tough choices and accompanying drama. Because of this, I strive to get past all the little daily annoyances, such as 93N traffic, or spilling chai on yourself during a job interview. the 89th guy I met from OKC and realize there's no connection. Instead, I live for moments we celebrate - these little moments make up the tapestry of our lives: birthdays, graduations, holidays, or that email saying you've got the job, a twinkle in your client's eyes after meeting with them and giving them a Dead Poets Society / Good Will Hunting type of speech...

I'm not perfect, and I don't expect you to be either. Actually, we're all works in progress... I enjoy seeing others improve, grow, and change. You know how some people grow apart? That would never happen with me... We'd keep it interesting.

I'm deeply happy, self-actualized, and give love each day. I value social intelligence - kindness/generosity, empathy, tenderness. I smile widely and laugh frequently - life is a satire when you're at peace with the world. My sense of humor is a cool mix of dry/clever/witty and physical farce (Danny Kaye, Harold Lloyd).

I went to grad school to focus on education for at-risk students, and feverishly wrote papers on resiliency of non-traditional education. Worked a number of years and lost touch with my focus. Then went back to school for another grad degree: master's in counseling. In 2013, I started a new career as a therapist. I love it.

You must watch this, I was moved by it:

NOTE: Guys, you need to at least try. hey, if you aren't smiling in your photo, I won't talk to you here.
What I’m doing with my life
