I am Catholic, modest, and sincere.

My Self-Summary

Hi there! I've only lived in this area for a few years, so I'm still trying hard to meet new people. I'm rather artsy, but still down to Earth for the most part. I love anime and Japanese culture overall.

I enjoy doing things outside, hiking, biking, ice skating, etc. I'm also a bit of a video game freak, even if I'm not terribly good at most of the games I play.

I am Catholic, and my faith means a lot to me. If you've got issues with Catholicism, or can't handle conversations about religion, then you'd best pass me by. If you're Catholic, or have no beef with the Church, feel free to drop me a line.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm currently an art teacher at a private art and music 'school' of sorts. The class I teach is on manga, namely how to make your own and get it out into the world. At the moment, I've only got five, talented students, but we're still growing.

I'm also a freelance artist. I sold my first work on eBay when I was in high school. I made a birthday present for a friend of the family to give to their friend. And I just recently completely an original painting of St. Timothy that's now blessed and hanging in a parish in Pittsburgh. I'm hoping to make a habit of this, as I enjoy doing artwork for other people.

Lastly, I'm also an aspiring novelist. I've got a series in the works that I hope takes me my whole life to write down. I love when people ask me about it. (hint hint)

I’m really good at

People tell me I'm a great artist; I'm getting to the point where I agree with them. I'm also a great writer.

Something a bit odder - I tend to be pretty good at choosing movies and books. Not that I haven't struck out now and then, but I usually pick pretty great stuff.

What else... I'm an okay cook if I've got a recipe, and I'm not half bad at baking, either, if I take my time with it.

The first things people usually notice about me

Maybe my long hair? In conversation, people usually notice I'm rather intelligent. I've been able to hold meaningful conversations with adults ever since I was in middle school or so.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

My favorite books... Lucas, Boy on a Black Horse, the Green Rider series; I have so many books, it's not even funny.

Movies... The majority of my favorites are anime - Howl's Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke, Whisper of the Heart. The few live action I like are along the lines of Narnia, just about anything involving a school - college included, a lot of horror films, the new King Kong, and a host of other random films I can't remember the names of.

Music is always rough for me to pick favorites for. I love classical - Verdi, Rutter, Tchaikovsky. A bit of rock - Disturbed, Linkin Park, System of a Down. A handful of country songs I grew up with. Techno's fun, even though I don't dance. Little bits here and there. Anime soundtracks are usually a great score.

Aaand, food. I'm a relatively picky eater. I have a low tolerance for the taste of most vegetables, but I've gotten better about it as I get older. But I like meat, for the most part. Chicken cordon bleu(which, apparently, I'm not half bad at making), veil parmesan, burgers, that sort of thing. Beef stew and chili is good, too. I can't stand sea food, save for tuna and your basic deep-fried fish sticks. I also don't like to eat out; I'd much rather get food to go and eat somewhere else, or just cook at home.

The six things I could never do without

God, the Church, my creativity, the starry sky, music, and peanut butter. I love peanut butter.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Oh boy. What don't I think about all of the time? Let's see....

My faith
My writing
Horses
Children
The messed up adoption industry
Abortion
If I'll ever have a family of my own
What my future house would be like
Anime
It goes on and on, really...

On a typical Friday night I am

Eh...not doing a whole lot? I'm not a 'go out and do stuff' kind of person, and I don't really have money to do anything with, anyhow. I'm usually sitting in front of the computer, working on something or not, watching tv, or playing a video game. Sometimes reading, though not as much anymore as I used to. I wouldn't mind going out and doing stuff, though. Just no one to do anything with.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I lost a brother to abortion and a sister to SIDS, both before I was born.

You should message me if

You're okay with Catholics - especially if you yourself are Catholic. If you like anime and/or video games, or even just Asian culture. If you're in the Ohio Valley area. I'm looking for friends just as much as a relationship; the one good friend I've got is going back home to Vegas this summer, so I won't have anyone to go and do things with anymore. So yeah. Friends are good.
