I am idiosyncratic, garrulous, and sesquipedalian.

My Self-Summary

I'm a techie librarian-type living in an old house in a small town. I travel a lot for work and for fun. I swim, I barbecue, I take pictures, I make little movies, I like to sit by the river and read books and watch birds. I think I can teach anyone how to use a computer. I'm a thrifty pain in the ass with a wicked sense of humor and a strong backstroke

What I’m doing with my life

I balance a bunch of little jobs that don't seem like work so that I can live in a place that seems like home while being able to travel around the country. I've got active offline and online lives.

More specifically I read, swim, scheme and putter. I think I'm not ambitious but my friends disagree.

I’m really good at

Solving problems, especially the complicated kind that can't be erased with a solid application of money or time.

I'm good at reading, can you be good at reading? I love to read and can sack out with a good book and come up for air hours later when I've finally gotten hungry. I can read in the tub, on bouncy Central American buses and by the full moon on a good night.

The first things people usually notice about me

I tend to look like I just woke up and talk like I've had too much coffee.

The six things I could never do without

Sleep. Network. Trees. Water. Mail. And something I'm sure I've forgotten.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

I have mad schemes usually involving complicated travel plans and late night escapades.

On a typical Friday night I am

At the airport, in bed with a book, out visiting friends, taking apart a computer. There is not really anything typical about my Fridays.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I probably have developed a crush on your forearms before I've even driven past you on the interstate.

You should message me if

You've got a good idea for something fun to do or you've finally found a good burrito joint in the Upper Valley.
