My self-summary
I am all about biking and growing food in my life. Most of the time I work alone (though I love to work with someone I can have a conversation with) and so I think a lot and listen to a lot of NPR. I like to hang out with friends and try to live in community with others. I love to be outside as much as possible in any sort of weather. I am passionate about trying to make the world a little better in my little part of it.
What I’m doing with my life
I am growing vegetables in my garden, picking up recycling with a bike for Greencycle, going to yoga a lot while I still have time to, riding my bike over to friends' houses, helping to run a cooperative Community Supported Agriculture program, working on the Catherine Ferguson Farm, about to move into a house I just bought, and figuring out how to live the dream.
I’m really good at
cooking for friends (nothing fancy, just good food), sharing, riding my bike, and working in the soil.
The first things people usually notice about me
A lot of people notice my bike. You might have seen it around town, it has a long back (called an Xtracycle) for carrying people and extra stuff around. I also have some really long hair that is pretty striking when it isn't tied back, or so I've been told. I'm also usually wearing dirty Carhartts
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I got totally sucked into the Harry Potter books, really enjoy Barbara Kingsolver's books, have been trying to read more poetry, really enjoy a good non-fiction especially nature writing. The best book I've read recently was Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson

Movies: I like all sorts of movies and going to see them on the big screen is one of my favorite things. Recently I really enjoyed The Artist, Black Power Mix Tape and All the Pretty Horses. If you want to go to the DFT invite me! I will also thoroughly enjoy the occasional dumb action movie, romantic comedy, or silly Pixar flick.

Music: I am all over the map and tend to hear things that I like and then forget the name of the artist to look them up later. I named a farm I ran after a line from "Back to the Garden" by Jason Webley and recently "You Can't Always Get What You Want" by the Rolling Stones has been running through my head a lot. Definitely a sucker for Macklemore. If you have heard of Shake Your Peace we might be soul mates. I was named after a song by Arlo Guthrie though I tend to enjoy the band that sang about "Dallas Alice" more. For dancing my tastes are totally different.

Food: I love all sorts of food. Especially if the ingredients are fresh and it's not so over spiced that you can't taste them (not that I dislike spicy food, peppers are an ingredient too!)
The six things I could never do without
Material things: a good shovel, a bike, a good knife, sunshine, rain (o how this summer was tough) and soil

More abstract things: friendship, a project to work on, hope, support, information, living things
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What time yoga class is. What errands I need to do. How can I motivate myself to do some cleaning. How to keep the goats at work healthy. What all needs to get done before I move, how it is all going to get moved, what I'm going to do to the house once I do move, and oh, then there's the entire farm to plan!
On a typical Friday night I am
Hoping to spend time with enjoyable people, and usually succeeding.
