I recently moved to Columbus, where I am finally settling down, making friends, working, and making a life for myself. I have a very sweet boyfriend who treats me well. I graduated from college in 2008 with a BA in English, which does not in any way mean I aspire to be a teacher. I don't. I had written a whole long self-summary, and went to save it, only to have OKcupid tell me that some snarky smartass had proposed a passive agressive edit to my profile. After I rejected it, Okcupid failed to save my changes, so now you will have to stick with my slightly frustrated and self-righteous ramblings.

I am an oxymoron, an insomniac, a night-owl, a longtime vegetarian. I am sarcastic, I am shy, I am a closet nerd. I like to dance, to write, to kiss, to cuddle, to watch trashy reality television.

I am my harshest critic and my biggest fan. I am vain and self-concious. Your average everyday sane psycho supergoddess to quote a certain singer.

I don't really know yet. I know I want to go back to school, but when and where and for what are all kind of vague. Ideally I'd get an MFA in creative writing at a really great school and write the next great American novel, a modern day Slaughterhouse five, that would shake up the conventions of modern literature... But I think a lot of people dream of something along those lines..

Basically right now I'm putting off the real world.

Using the correct forms of You're/your and Their/there/they're. Also getting sunburned. I'm very fair skinned, like a half hour of unprotected sun exposure will do it. Its really a shame, because the Sun is my greatest love. The one I never get over. I love it, it burns me, but damned if I don't go running back once my skin goes back to its usual whiter shade of pale.

My babyblues? That I'm a total hottie? More likely that I'm really quiet. Most people take my shyness for snobbery. Its a self-defense mechanism, just like the sarcasm.

For food its easier to list what I don't like. I don't eat meat, ginger, anise, fennel, olives, or asparagus.

I read a lot. More than anyone ought to purely for pleasure. I like Stephen King, Vonnegut, Charles de Lint, Anne Rice before she found religion, Dean Koontz and Mary Higgans Clark for some good fluff reading, and Agatha Christie to name a few.

Netflix tells me that I've watched over seven hundred and fifty movies. Among my favorites are Moulin Rouge!, the Princess Bride, Pan's Labyrinth, Labyrinth, the Wizard of Oz, Fight Club, Memento, Amelie, Twelve Monkeys, 28 Days Later, Big Fish, Breakfast on Pluto, Brokeback Mountain, the Fall, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, the Green Mile, the Shawshank Redemption..

Music: Coldplay, Our Lady Peace, Snow Patrol, Idlewild, Green day, Oasis, the Beatles, The doors, the who, billy idol, the offspring, red hot chilli peppers, dave matthews band, guster, goldfinger, the police, the eurythmics, Billy Joel. I was raised on Oldies and 80's music, so while I don't know a lot of the bands names, I sure can sing along.
