My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Not sure where to start, so I might as well get right into it. I enjoy traveling, cooking, brewing, sailing, playing my guitar, learning new things, a good wander, and all the regular stuff. I have a complex and eclectic taste in music ranging from Celtic folk to technical death metal. Sometimes, these two noted styles are combined into folk metal. Makes for great concerts.

I have a degree in Anthropology and studied Archaeology, but left the field shortly after graduating for various reasons. I still enjoy reading about it though, and find that you just can't get rid of that Anthropological training. It's pretty effective brainwashing.

I like board games enough that I run a board game club at work. I also enjoy playing video games, watching cartoons, reading comics, and a lot of other nerdy little things. I have a pretty intense knowledge of pop culture, which I openly use for jokes and explanations. It's amazingly what you can learn about cultures based on how they present themselves in their media.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
From an occupational perspective, I'm an IT-Professional with a wonderfully confusing and poorly defined job. My job gives me an education budget, so I'm eagerly abusing that privilege in my plans to climb up the corporate ladder.

Outside of work, I try to learn everything that I can. I enjoy cooking, brewing, sailing, technology, and wandering around relatively aimlessly. Given the time that I spent with Anthropology, the wandering is often one of my favorite parts. I can't help but people-watch and try to understand cultures that are both new and common to me. There's always a new intricacy that you just didn't notice before.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Probably a good number of things.

The Russian women at work really like my cooking and are trying to marry me off. It didn't help when I stole someone's guitar and played it for a bit...
The first things people usually notice about me

The height. Definitely the height. In fact, when people get to know me, it's still usually the height.

Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
The ocean, music, my family, culture, my curiosity, google.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I think about a lot of things. I think about culture, humanity, politics, music, art, how to get further in this know...the usual stuff.

I have to note this here, when I am on this website, looking at profiles, I often wonder about the messages that women get. They seem frighteningly interesting.

You can't think of a good reason not to. Seriously, what's the worst that could happen?

I will warn you that my idea of fun some days is just to pick a direction or destination and go. I actually just took a 3700 mile road trip for fun.
