My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Love life, music, films, literature, humor, hanging out and enjoying these with friends. Probably a mix between extrovert/introvert. A hedonist, experientialist - I love seeing live music, movies, eating good food, engaging in good conversations with friends, being alone in nature and by water, contemplating life and ways to improve myself. Not much gets me down except shallow, insincere, judgemental or myopic-sighted people, and people who don't think at least a little about their impact on the environment.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Radio show host (many genres such as punk, post-punk, garage, psych, indie-rock, deep blues, experimental, old-time country), radio documentary producer, book author. A freelance journalist on arts, local history and culture. Spare time . . . cooking, working on health, gardening, herbalism.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Making people laugh, open up, share delight in arts experiences. Communicating, reading people, and with predicting arts/music trends. I'm a good cook. Great with cats and even plants. : )
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
People have said my attitude and joyful spirit lights up the room. My green eyes, my voice, my smile.

List is far too long, as I'm a lifelong literature, movie, music etc. junkie. Genre-wise, I am a voracious reader, of really good modern and classic literature, autobiographies, music history, science fiction, fantasy, magic realism, thrillers, indie stuff. Authors: Gaiman, Eggers, Chabon, Donna Tartt, G. R. R. Martin, Michael Pollan, Leslie Marmon Silko, N. Scott Momaday, and Louise Ehrdrich are just a few of many fave writers. Longer ago faves include: Tom Robbins, P. K. Dick, William Gibson, Neal Stephenson, Heinlein . . . Currently reading: The Goldfinch (amazing!) Chabon's Telegraph Avenue, Clash of Kings, Please Kill Me. Most recent books read: Gone Girl (trite but compelling popcorn book), Game of Thrones Book 1, Hologram for the King by Eggers, LOVESTAR (a dystopian Icelandic novel I LOVED), and LIFE by Keith Richards.

TV: True Detective, HELIX, Sherlock, Doctor Who, Downton Abbey, Luther, Misfits, Orphan Black (Love BBC). Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Continuum, Shameless, Hell on Wheels. Past loves: The Wire, Deadwood, LOST except for the end, Battlestar Galactica, Prime Suspect, Star Trek (all).

Shows: live music, pretty much every genre, at several venues. A few fave local bands of many - Rabbit Holes, The Blind Shake, Michael Yonkers, Birthday Suits, Bob Mould, Web of Sunsets, Eleganza, Goondas, Iguano, Idle Hands, Flavor Crystals, Dead Gurus, Magic Castles, First Communion Afterparty, Driftwood Pyre, The Knotwells, Dreamland Faces, Charlie Parr, Frankie Lee, the Cactus Blossoms, Buildings, Red Daughters, Night Moves, Chambermaids, Mr. Hide and so, so many more.

To get into but a few fave national/international: Ty Segall, Thee Oh Sees, (most of the San Fran psych scene), The Black Lips, Roky Erickson, The Night Beats, Warlocks, the BJM, Dead Skeletons, Black Angels, The Ghost of a Sabertooth Tiger, Wooden Shjips, David Bowie, Cheap Trick, Rolling Stones, Neil Young, Mudhoney, The Cramps, Savages, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Iggy Pop, Motley Crue, Violent Femmes, the Meat Puppets, Lee Ranaldo and the Dust . . . a few fave bands from the past include: The Litter, Joy Division, The Cure, Queen (all-time fave), The Who, The Kinks, Television, Wire, Suicide, Silver Apples, Sonic Youth, Pink Floyd, The Ramones, Dead Kennedys, Husker Du, The Fall, The Cows, Run Westy Run . . .

Fave food - I like most kinds - but favorites are: Japanese - sushi and ramen; Thai, Vietnamese, Mediterranean, Greek, Spanish, Cuban quality simple American comfort food, e.g. steak, seafood, roast chicken, pot roast. I also love Irish pub food especially The Anchor fish and chips, one of my fave spots. Fave restaurants currently also are: Bar La Grassa, Victor's 1959, Fuji ya, Masu, Modern Cafe, Blue Door Longfellow, Quang, Jasmine 26, Black Forest Inn, The Peacock, Eat St. Social. And Heggie's pizza at Grumpy's NE.
