I am motivated, excitable, and wannabe British.

My Self-Summary

This a completely new self summary, because sometimes you realise you aren't who you thought you were.

I'm a Dutch girl, but with no particular liking to anything to do with my own country. Whenever I have money and time off, I like to travel to the UK. I have a lot of friends there, most of which I have met because of my passion for music.

I'd like to think of myself as an artistic person. I like to paint and I aspire to be a writer. A subject I am more likely to make money off of is graphic design and new media.

I'm very serious about my future and very much care for others who are serious about it. There's something very attractive to healthy ambition.

When meeting new people I can be a little bit shy, but I'm not so bad once you get used to me, or I get used to you. Since this is a dating site, I should tell you that I require a little bit of patience on this front as well as the occasional nudge.
Now in Dutch
Ik vind dat als je me interessant vindt, je ook wel even Engels kunt lezen. Niet erg aardig, maar dat is toch wel een beetje een must voor mij ;).

What I’m doing with my life

I graduated from university, after studying Communication and Multimedia Design for four years. the 22nd of June 2009 is an historic day!

I'm trying to find out what I want to do next, looking to set up my own business in any kind of design, but also hoping for a job.

Figuring out who I am is one of those things I'll always be doing. Also, trying to find people to enjoy life with, friends and other.

I'm writing a fantasy novel and paint a lot.

As I said before, I like to travel to the UK. Places I've visited are Manchester, Glasgow, London, Liverpool, Nottingham, Aberdeen, Chester and Preston. Some visits were more extensive than others.

I’m really good at

Painting and writing. Apparently I'm also good at listening, having interesting conversations and debates, smiling, going on photographs, reading people and that sort of thing.

The first things people usually notice about me

Well, firstly, that I am in a wheelchair, but just when I go out. It's not something you can't notice. I used to feel uncomfortable about it but not anymore.

People say I act older than my age, especially when in serious conversation. I apparently have a very mature perspective on things. Even on things I've never had anything to do with.

I've been told I have a great smile and good hair.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I'm very much into reading. I've read too much and liked too much to list them all but I like fantasy books with mystery and romance, as well as funny books or historical novels. Some of my favorites include Harry Potter, Outlander series, Labyrinth, Terry Pratchett books and The Lord of the Rings.

Film is another passion for me. I've seen a lot. My list is too long. Like blockbusters as well as arthouse films. Recent faves are 21, Memento and Mrs. Palfrey at the Claremont.

The passion never ends. Music. Hm. Very much into any kind of rock except metal. Like the old stuff and can appreciate classical music too. Play me anything on an acoustic guitar and I'll swoon. Fave bands are The Fratellis, Room Eleven, The Beatles, We Are Scientists, The Raconteurs, Arctic Monkeys and Last Shadow Puppets

Food. Am partial to unhealthy food as well as healthy food. Dislike strawberries. They're not romantic.

The six things I could never do without

In no order:

Human company, I am a people person. I love spending time with friends and family, but am not a very big party-goer. Would rather hang out with a select few.

Computers and Internet, I like to keep in touch and I do anything on my laptop. Writing and painting. Plus I prefer online shopping to actual real life shopping (at least on my own) because it's hell in a wheelchair.

Music, seriously. Take it away, you die.

Friends and family, I just care about them.

Good conversation, if I don't have something interesting to talk about, I'll very likely die of boredom.

Security, not in the bodyguard kind of way, but just in life. I don't want everything all secure, but I need at least some form of stability in my life.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

My future, what it'll be like, who I'll be with. I also spend a lot of time thinking about other people's well being. It's just how I roll.

On a typical Friday night I am

Most of the time I'll be at home visiting my mother or a friend. Or my friends might be over at my place, to watch movies. Or we'll be out watching movies, or walking by the river taking photographs.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm quite afraid of thunder. Very embarrassing.

My shyness often stops me from doing something I want.

You should message me if

You want to have a conversation with me, make me feel good about myself, want to read my novel, see my paintings, want a bit of a laugh.
