My Self-Summary

Hi, as the username implies, I'm a Paramedic. I work in the village and have a lot of fun doing it. I know it's often seen as negative to define yourself on here by what you do for work, but I like my job, and I think I'd be lying if I said it wasn't a defining part of me.

Thanks to my job, I'd say I have a fairly fucked up sense of humor. Very few things are off limits, no matter how gross or morbid. That's not to say that I don't have a sense of morals/ethics, but I firmly believe humor can be found in almost everything, and that there's always a positive side to unfortunate circumstances.

I don't really know why I put a long rant on religion here, waste of space. I don't see the need to follow organized religion. That doesn't mean that I think there's no God, I don't think any of us know that one for sure, however I don't need old white men in Italy dictating what I can and can not do.

I'm pretty sure what I want out of life, which is to ultimately end up an FDNY Firefighter, and continuing on as a paramedic part time. I've had day dreams of becoming a cabbie, just for the hell of it, and I'd try becoming a cop, if I wasn't so terrified of the dehumanizing effect the job seems to have on people. Ultimately I want to know that I've made a difference in someone's life.

What I’m doing with my life

Saving lives, one drunk person in the village at a time.

Working (obviously), trying to settle into my new apartment, hoping to get back into grad school... though I can't until my work schedule changes, getting into running, as well as cooking for myself, and just trying to be more healthy in general.

I’m really good at

Drinking expensive beer, driving an ambulance, walking and talking, and finding my way around NYC.

The first things people usually notice about me

I have quite the dome.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Bonfire of the Vanities

Stepbrothers

Modest Mouse

Bacon Cheeseburgers, and Sushi (If these could be combined I'd be very interested)

(TV) The Office, The Daily Show, Colbert Report

The six things I could never do without

Car, laptop, iphone, iced coffee, bacon, and melatonin

I spend a lot of time thinking about

What goes through the heads of people that call 911, how the whole experience feels to them, as opposed to the way we see it.

This thing called life.

Beer selection.

On a typical Friday night I am

Going out in the East Village, or working on one of the ambulances that sits in the East Village.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I wish I were living in Brooklyn

You should message me if

About dating/life/why I'm here: Not really sure, kinda have an idea of what I like, but there's a lot of grey areas, so it's hard to put a set list of rules into play.

That said... you should be over 21. I like to drink. Not insane amounts, but often when I go out. I don't feel like having to think about what places are 'under 21' and what aren't, so you're shit outta luck.

Also, I really hate myspace angles. You know what I'm talking about. At least 50% of this (though I'm willing to guess it's closer to 80%) is based on physical attraction, based on a few pictures, so please make at least one of them relatively normal or straightforward.
