I love good food, great beer, amazing conversation, hanging out with my friends, walks, reading and riotous sex. I am looking for people to talk with, party with and to experience and question life with and hopefully some chemistry. Given my druthers I will stay up all night talking with my friends. I love learning things. I love art. I love to read.

I am interested in the intersections between art, design, communication and programming. If you cannot conceive of how visiting an art museum or gallery could be awesome, message me and I will try to explain. I love shiny, stimulating things.

I have been known to drive to Kansas City or Chicago with my friend just for good dim sum and awesome art. Okay, sometimes just for good music too.

Communication and sharing information have always been important to me. At one point I thought I would use that and join the diplomatic corps. Instead I magically ended up doing tech support and web design.

I work at a library designing, implementing, maintaining and supporting systems to help people share and find information. Some days I get to do a little print design alongside all the other fun.

Being a smartass, explaining things to people from a variety of backgrounds, showing my appreciation of great food.

Books: I love pretty much anything by Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, although my favorite author is Haruki Murakami. One of these days I will get to the point where I can read all of his books and Mishima's Patriotism in Japanese.

TV: Buffy, Angel, Firefly, MI5, Coupling, Community, Deadwood, Rome

Music: I like a range of music, but I do listen to a lot of Trip Hop, Trance, and electronica while I work (too many lyrics while trying to read do not make for good concentration). Tom Waits fills me with wonder. Scissor Sisters are just fun. I love rock and 80's wave. Sabbath is amazing. You get the idea. Also Tamio Okuda rocks my world. I have a weakness for JPop and ska. Judy and Mary are showing up much more in my daily listening.

Food: I love good pizza (and trust me it is rare in des moines), Japanese curry, katsudon, mochi, noodles, Thai food, curry, and Mediterranean fare. Jerk Chicken rocks my world and a really good taco or burrito is sheer, greasy bliss. I am trying to cook most of my food and not eat meat more than a few times a week. Sometimes cooking goes really well, other times I am seduced by baked goods and anything frozen at Trader Joes.

Hanging out with my friends until the wee hours of the night or reading a good book. If there is a great movie out or a good show going on at a gallery, that can easily tempt me for a few hours. Sometimes the karaoke demon takes over my body as well. Not quite as fun as karaoke in Japan, but still damn fun even in the midwest.

I do not have a lot of private things. If you want to know something and ask me honestly and straightforwardly, you will probably get an answer.

We have any common interests, or you find anything I wrote or answered worth starting a conversation over. I am mostly using this to meet more people in town and nearby, but I am up for chatting with pretty much anybody.

If you are deviant in any way, or at least popular culture would define you that way, then I would probably at least find you interesting. If you think there are no problems with the system and it could not possibly be better, do not even waste the time to type me a message.
