My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
A few snapshots:

- I think life is valued the most by the way we interact with other people.
- Enjoyed helping to make wine, creating art, living, and studying in a few different countries. I also liked sailing home old style.
- Although not really an extrovert, I like to live within a culture and meet the people.
- Grateful for both the blessings and the lessons in life.

I am looking forward to building a wonderful and stable relationship. We could be a good match if you enjoy the simple things in life. You are warmhearted, compassionate, and happy.

The fine print: I am from the Caribbean but I sunburn easily, usually wear glasses, speak English with an accent, and love cake, pasta, and pizza but need to avoid gluten :( I am not infallible ;)
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
- I relish my walk to a challenging engineering job in Berkeley.
- I also work at an urban winery during harvest.
- I paint and windsurf (non simultaneously).
- I learned a lot by tutoring a middle school class and I hope to do that again in the future.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Being patient, figuring how things work, balancing skill and intuition, diplomacy ( I am a middle child ), seeing the other side, stone skipping.
The first things people usually notice about me

Accent, smile.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Kind of indie in music and movies. I suppose that exact matches are not to be expected or desired in this section :) I also think that local is very good: farmers' markets, trails, hiking up a mountain, ocean, and dancing.

Books: Places in Between, Brothers Karamazov, Catcher in the Rye. (I like the paradox that fiction can tell a greater truth.)
Film: Life of Others, La Haine, Sound of Noise, The Commitments, The Shawshank Redemption, Gattaca, Vengo, Patema Inverted.
Music: Currently listening to "Saadiq - Good Man", "Buika - No Habrá Nadie En El Mundo". Joy Division, Scott Pilgrim soundtrack, Sharon Jones, Wild Nothing, Pixies, Dutronc, Smog, Magnetic Fields, Juan Luis Guerra, fast salsa and zydeco!...New Year's Day was spent listening to this (live and recorded): Prokofiev (BTW I like the cool composed conductor in the video). I enjoy many opera arias (e.g., Magic Flute) but then I realize that they are usually singing about eliminating someone :/
Food: Persian, seafood, tapas, dark chocolate, kale, blueberries. Vietnamese, Korean, Just to give some samples. I like to cook!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Assurance that the ocean is near (I am an islander)
Warmth (literally and figuratively)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
- Encouraging the underdogs: Wouldn't it be nice if one of those runners hired to set the pace early in a race rescinds the contract and goes all the way to win?
- Adding horn section solos to guitar based music.
- Phone zombies are everywhere!
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
at a figure drawing circle. Figuring out where there is good food with not much of a wait line.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
