My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
**I'm traveling about and will be near Pearson Tuesday and Wednesday. I'm very relationally content back home. Mostly, I'm just looking for an activity partner. I'm open to the possibility of intimacy, or casual sex, but... that's a pretty unlikely result of you messaging me. Note: single men, you will have to try harder than sticking your thumb out on Highway 69.**

I'm everything my parents warned me about and a few things more they would have if they'd known to. I grew up in a town that would have been perfect if I had instead grown up to be straight, monogamous, cisgender, Christian, career and family oriented, and pining for the perfect picket fence.

Instead, my parents gave me a million things they probably never intended, for which I'll always love them.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm packing and repacking it, turning it over in my hands and always finding a new facet to face outward for display. I won't burn it down or salt the earth it grew out of, but I will take a hammer to my porcelain and glue it back together with gold.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Cooking and criticizing my food
Skipping in and out of crosswalks
Writing bad introduction emails
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My personal sense of fashion; you don't get to be the Ferndale Jam Lady without having an inappropriate amount of fruit related clothing. Also I bike in short skirts a lot. Either way, mid-century midwestern fashion or incidental bike accident upskirts, it's what gets noticed.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

When I had a car, the rule for guests was "the radio's yours; play me your music," and I like to think that philosophy applies to a lot of my life.

I kinda have a thing for food, science, and history, so Mark Kurlansky's Salt was quite well received. I also really dig Craig Thompson's Blankets - in no small part because it has massive parallels to my life. The best thing I've read recently has been Grant Morrison's run on Doom Patrol.

Theatrically, Darren Aronofsky can do no wrong and his films Requiem for a Dream and The Fountain are tops for me.

Shows: Game of Thrones, Hannibal, House of Cards, Firefly, Breaking Bad, the new Outer Limits.

Music: folk, punk revival and a menagerie of other things

Food: If it's properly cooked and well seasoned, I'll dig it.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
If you'll allow ineluctable pairs:
A proper chef's knife
my hiking backpack with my passport
fashionable accessories
nice shampoo and conditioner
a french press
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How best to help the people I care about achieve happiness
When I can sleep
What public transit facility I have to be at and when
My foster dog
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Lately, I've had a far more regular set of Friday night habits than in years past which has mostly included a monthly book club, date night with one of my partners either out for drinks or in with a pile of cheese and whatever TV show we're watching together.

I do still occasionally pull all nighters cooking, travel somewhere fun, curl up with a book and a bottle of wine on the porch, or play board games until 5am, but gone are the halcyon days of closing down three bars in a night.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I listen to Radiolab in the shower.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You are nurturing, play by the platinum rule, and put other people ahead of yourself.

You want to make me a mixtape. But not a tape, since I don't have a cassette player. A mix playlist, I suppose, even though that sounds way less romantic.

You dole out unusual compliments.

If you aren't near Ferndale, you don't mind coming to me. Seriously. I'm happily bikebound, but that does limit for nearly everyone how far I'm willing to travel. Especially if I'm supposed to be pretty at the end of the ride.

You have a favorite day hiking trail you want to take me on.

You have a favorite restaurant that you need to share with someone.

You want to go to a baseball game.
