My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I identify as a feminist, and that's always an interesting thing to say on the internet, so let's start there! Especially in that "Feminism is the radical notion that women are people" sense. I'm also very happy to be a firm straight ally.

I'm recently singleized from a long-term relationship as of mid-June. It's fresh so I'm not looking for anything super serious too quickly. Still, I've been known to date, and am doing that now! Eventually I'd like to find a serious committed relationship, and I'm not currently flirting at anyone who is also looking for that sort of thing with me.

Overall? Sarcastic and probably a little bit cynical, but I love puppies and sometimes have unlimited childlike wonder. Despite (or perhaps because of) all of this, really pretty neat.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working to up my activity and expand my social circle. While I'm not doing that, I can generally be found working too much, or at least worrying about work while I'm not there.

As trite as this might sound, I'm starting a voyage of self-discovery and improvement: I am working on caring for myself beyond more than just my basic and professional needs. Travel companions or tour guides are welcome.

Also currently nursing my dreams of having a large dog, a backyard with some kind of tree, and a patio grill. Maybe even a patio to put it on. Exotic, right?
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Making a quick joke about something completely absurd that just happened.

Being really surprised - I have mad skills in this area.

Technology, and troubleshooting. Maybe I can't fix a problem, but I can sure identify it. It keeps me employed...

I can hold up my end of a conversation on most things, and really enjoy doing it. I can debate either side of a topic, and may not always hold the popular opinion, but I can explain my reasoning pretty well.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have like, crazy freckles. Besides that, I'm pretty funny! And sure, also sarcastic, but usually in a decently entertaining way. And while it's probably not the first thing people would notice for obvious reasons, my hair is surprisingly soft.

I'm also overweight. It's something I'm attempting to address like the challenge it is. I'm upping my physical activity, learning to cook, and focusing on putting together a healthy lifestyle.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

A ton of this stuff is all over the map - I read / watch / listen for fun as well as stimulation, so I cheerfully acknowledge that some things I'll list might be complete trash...

Books! Well, authors anyway...
Mary Roach, Neal Stephenson, Dan Savage, Tom Clancy, Dave Barry, Barbara Ehrenreich, Steven Levitt. I was on team Koontz growing up, now I'm probably team King.

Television!
Firefly (If I didn't have to swap out my DVR, I'd still have a season pass in the absurd hope...), House, Dirty Jobs, Bones, Mythbusters, NCIS, Fringe. Currently going through old episodes of Castle, because Nathan Fillion is <3.

Music!
Tegan and Sara, U2, Eminem, Billy Joel, Kid Rock, Priscilla Ahn, Cake, Lily Allen, A Fine Frenzy, Taylor Swift, Crash Test Dummies, Bruce Springsteen, Atomic Tom, The Warren Brothers, Lady GaGa, Crash Test Dummies, Bob Seger, Regina Spektor.

Yes, Eminem is in there... yes, I really *do* identify as a feminist... it's complicated. He still does happen to be one of the finest rhyming lyricists around. It's... complicated, okay? But maybe this can help? Starts at 3:12 to get into the meat, or watch the whole thing for some awesome songwriting theory.

Food!
Mostly the comfort variety. I dig me some mac & cheese, or a good slice of pizza. I'm constantly delighted by variously prepared hamburgers.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Internet access, caffeine, hot showers, a sense of humor, air conditioning, and remembering what my sixth thing is...
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The Internet, various social issues, and work.

When I'm happy and relaxed instead, it's more about puppies, what to do on days off, and good friends.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Often headed home? I try to get responsibility out of the way so I can have a weekend with increased fun and / or happy napping. And my job can be kinda rough on me sometimes, so it sometimes takes me until Saturday to be all, 'hurrah fun times!'

I like movies! I like casual restaurants that aren't too crowded. I like leaving the city for the weekend and going somewhere fun. I like staying home, and honestly, I kind of dig some video games and messing about on the internet. It's really kind of my thing.

Should we become friends, I will probably be linking you adorable pictures of baby goats, kittens, puppies, or possibly nerdy guinea pigs.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
The *actual* first thing people might notice about me is, 'that guy looks vaguely uncomfortable!' It's not that easy for me to get to know new people, but almost always worth it.
