My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Oh, hello. You've caught me filling out the self-summary section of my profile.

I'm David. I get happy when I think of something clever and am quick to hand out Awesome Points®. I am impressed by creativity, whether it's artsy, funny, emotionally astute, problem solving, or simply kindness.

I've always been a big fan of doing things my own way and can be strong in my opinions. Honor and being honorable is important to me in a romantic kind of way, and I can be quick to defend others.

I like adventure! If I see something interesting at the side of the road, I'll totally pull over to check it out. I like to feed dogs treats, even when I'm not supposed to. I can't help it. They get so happy.

I don't know how to use a semi-colon; maybe I'll learn soon.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
At work, I am a teacher (adults) and I run an e-Learning company. It's stimulating because e-Learning is young, so I get to innovate and think of new ways to do things--which I totally get off on. I treat teaching like I'm on stage, which makes working a pleasure. I'm lucky like that.

I think up things that I find hilarious and write them down. Some recent ones:

* You write tomato and I write tomato.

* I guess if I wanted to open a math academy, but couldn't afford it, I'd have to get a cosine.

* Steppe nomads move around a lot and need easily portable housing. Portable housing does have its downsides, though. So, usually nobody moves, nobody gets yurt.

That last one is my favorite!

I'm one of those "I like to do stuff!" people. If there's a fun adventure, I'm down. I tend to be an organizer of said fun stuff and am always sending out "Let's do this!" emails to my friends.

Don't typecast me too quickly, though. I also enjoy the mellow times, deep or intellectual conversations, cuddled up movies (d'aww!), drives with the top down, and intermittent just stayin' home.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I take some joy in being good at things and in putting in the effort to be good at things. I'm not much for middle of the road. A sampling of the stuffs I'm good at: simplifying complex ideas, teaching, creating adventure, dressing up all snazzy-like, making faces, being a nice guy but not a "nice" guy, inventing techniques, dancing, bantering, a bunch'a other stuff.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Probably my style. It's kind of 50's meets 70's meets British Gentleman. I have fun with it. Also, my eyelashes have drawn comments since I was little.

Books... I love to read and I read a lot. Here are some of my favorites:

Prayer For Owen Meany & the The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle (tied for number one)

Cruel Shoes & Pure Drivel (Steve Martin is one of the literary geniuses of our time)

The Tao of Physics. (An amazing professor explains quantum theory in an easy to understand way. Then he delves into the higher ideas behind Eastern mysticism in a wonderfully straightforward and informative way. Then, he explains how they're the same. Really amazing. If you like science and expanding your horizons, consider this book.)

I also like the 1954 Air Force Survival Manual I bought for 50 cents at a garage sale. I learned as much about the 1950's as how to not die in the woods.

Music: I think that every type of music has something to offer, and connects directly to our souls. I've got me a theory about that. It involves our our brains' inherent delight in finding patterns, the rhythm of neurons firing, 1-2, 1-2, and the vibratory nature of all matter.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Stuff. Life. I like to figure things out.

Also: Oooh! Puppies!
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Yes, I am.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I once admitted something private on a public web site, and by doing so, proved it not to be private.
