My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I hate talking about myself... I think I'm just your average 30-something making it through life. I live in the Birmingham area and have since 2004. I grew up in north Alabama in a small town on the Tennessee River. I like to think I've got things together for the most part: I graduated with a BS in Commerce & Business Admin in 2011; bought my first house in 2009; hold a steady job; and just a regular all around guy.

I truly believe there is more to life than just sex or one night stands. What happened to romanticism and chivalry? I consider myself a Southern Gentleman for the most part (which is a lost art these days). I enjoy the finer things in life such as art museums, broadway shows, plays, art-house movies, etc.

I also very much enjoy photography and have just started printing and selling my own works. It's a happy set away from my regular job and something to do in my spare time and on weekends.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I've competed my Bachelor's degree at the University of Alabama in Commerce & Business Administration in 2011. I would like to get a Master's as well but time will tell about that. I've worked in real estate for over 15 years now and thoroughly enjoy my job. I'd like to one day own my own business but I'm in no rush for that right now. I also build websites as a part-time project along with graphic design work. I love marketing and advertising.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm really good at listening. I'm good at writing poetry (when the mood strikes which is not all that often lately.). I'm good at money management (now at least; long story you can ask later). I think I'm good at friendship although I know I have my weaknesses (doesn't everyone though). I tend to want to help people more than I should and typically end up getting screwed in the end whether it be financially or otherwise. I'm very good at sarcasm as well (it's a second language).
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I've been told people notice my smile and my personality. I generally come across as a good natured, fun person but occasionally my job can get stressful and get the best of me. I like to think that I have my life fairly well put together and that it shows to people around me.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Favorite book would have to be A Density of Souls by Christopher Rice. It's one of the few books I picked up and read cover to cover without putting down. Others would be Light Before Day, Angels & Demons, The Da Vinci Code, and Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close among others. I've got a library of some 200+ physical books and 150+ audio books now.

My two favorite movies of all time are probably RENT and Dead Poets Society. I have moods where I just have to watch a certain movie but those are my all time favorites. I also enjoy the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Harry Potter franchise, Fight Club, Donnie Darko, and such a wide variety of others.

As if one of my favorite shows isn't obvious (I'm going with theatre shows here), it's RENT and Wicked. Both has such good meaning behind the words to the songs and both are very touching. I've also seen several plays including Beautiful Thing, Shakespeare's R+J, The Laramie Project. I love a good afternoon play or show to break the monotony of the week up.

Now for shows (the TV category). One of my all-time favorites is by far SVU. I've probably seen every episode two or three times. Also really into White Collar, Suits, Psyched, Glee, Modern Family, The New Normal, American Horror Story, The New Girl, and I think the list could go on and on.

Music wise... Here lately I've been on a DMB, Fun, Gotye, Alex Clare, Imagine Dragons, Pink, and singer-songwriter binge.

Food wise... Italian hands down. I like to cook it and eat it. I'm pretty open to going out to eat anywhere but the way to my heart is a great Italian restaurant. I also thoroughly enjoy Chinese, Thai, Hibachi, and to many others to name.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. My Significant other (one day) & Family/Friends (it may be more than one but I'm counting all of the above as one).
2. Technology (iPhone, MacBook, iPad, etc.)
3. My Music
4. My Pets
5. My Camera(s)
6. Sarcasm
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The future. I try to concentrate on the future and where I am right now. Thinking about the past really is pointless because you can't go back and change the past. You can learn from the past but you can't change it. It's like one of my favorite lines from RENT says, "There is no future; there is no past; live this moment as your last." Another great line is from RENT, "Forget regret or life is yours to miss."

If you constantly live with the regret of what you could have done then you're likely to miss what you CAN do now.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Either going to dinner with friends or staying in watching a movie (typically). Here lately, I've enjoying going to Railroad Park in downtown Birmingham and just spending time outside.

I'll sometimes just randomly drive around with no purpose what-so-ever and just snap photography. I find that some of my coolest shots are the ones I don't plan and set up for in the first place.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Is something you'll have to find out in person. It's private; I'm not going to broadcast it over the internet.

As Forest Gump said, "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get." So I say why not give it a shot and see.
