My self-summary
I've recently taken time off from hunting and killing monsters and evil alien robots, to try and forge a meaningful relationship. You know in those superhero movies where the action hero realizes despite the good he does in the world, what he really wants is a relationship? It's exactly like that.

I'm a progressive liberal who grew up in Texas and couldn't be happier to be out of that state. I would have loved to burn it down on the way out but my parents and brother still live there, so I've left it intact... for now.

I'm independent and creative; I write and direct short films. And by that, I mean respectable films (comedies, romcoms, etc). Definitely not porn.

While getting my directing career off the ground, I am a UX designer at Stanford University. That's right, my cover identity is as a computer guy. I would have been a reporter like Clark Kent but there aren't too many newspapers so I went with IT. No one suspects a thing!

I love watching anything from big blockbusters to small independent films (A few hits that make my list-- Pan's Labyrinth, Jurassic Park, Little Miss Sunshine, Return to Me, Casablanca, Bridesmaids) -- genius! These are the kinds of things I do after a long day of fighting evil monsters. It is quite exhausting.

I also have a passion for expanding my horizons. From trips to the art or history museum, to following palaeontology and evolutionary psychology blogs, to watching TED talks...its all my cup of tea, so to speak. When a question pops into my head, it'll bug me until I find an answer (pan to Wikipedia). Knowledge is key to battling alien incursions.

I work out several times a week and play tennis and just started playing ultimate frisbee. It is good to stay in shape in case someone flashes the bat symbol in the sky. Not because that's my queue to go into action, but because I'm terrified of bats, so I have to be in good shape to run and hide. Don't judge me. I'm sure there are things that freak you out as well.

Send me a line if you want to compare notes or catch a flick. Thanks for shopping :)
