My self-summary
Some labels in no particular order:

Polyamorous. (I have multiple sexual/romantic partners, and they all know about each other and are OK with it.) Fat. Fat activist. (Hatred of fat and fat people needs to end. Having a fat body is, by itself, neither healthy nor unhealthy. Health is orthogonal to morality. I don't try to change my weight on purpose.) White. Queer (I am sexually/emotionally attracted to people of various genders). I don't identify as feminine. Kink-friendly. More or less neurotypical but a lot of my friends are not. Disabled (I have less mobility and energy than many people). I don't raise children or have plans to do so, but I like most of the kids I know. Politics: Pink and green. Feminist. Trying to get a grasp on privilege. Religion: Buddhist. Nontheist. I'm also a semi-lapsed shamanic-type pagan, but I don't have much patience with most new-age woo-woo. Some personality traits: Frequently cranky. Frequently charmed. I used to have deep ambivalence about Hello Kitty; now I have deep ambivalence about steampunk.

What I’m doing with my life
Trade: Wordsmith. (Mostly I edit technical books and manuals.)

I participate in various social networks (this might also be called "spending too much time on the net") with an emphasis on fandom. My home on the Intertubez is Dreamwidth.org. I also read alt.polyamory on Usenet and LiveJournal. I like to go to FogCon and Wiscon.

I like making and learning new ways to make things, so I am frequently picking up new-to-me arts and crafts. Crafts that I keep coming back to are beading, wireworking, and knitting. I have a membership at TechShop. I have plans to work more music-making into all this activity, but they have yet to come to fruition.

I volunteer at an animal shelter, pick up a word of Japanese here and there (mostly by watching anime and movies), and write fiction, rants, and poetry.

Although I'm an introvert, I spend a lot of time with people and other sentient beings—my sweeties, family, friends, and cats.

I practice polyamory. I live with my primary partner, aka the "Outlaw Husband" (we got married but didn't tell the government). I have two long-term local partners I don't live with. I have a few other connections that fall into the TOCOTOX (TOo COmplicated TO eXplain) category.

The first things people usually notice about me
Online: Articulate, possibly intimidating.

Meatspace: Very fat, short, middle-aged woman. Gender presentation is somewhere in the butch/geek/earth-mama quadrants.

I tend to be quiet/shy with people I don't know.

Some people say I am calming to be around.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: speculative fiction, science fiction, fantasy (e.g., Ursula K. Le Guin, Tiptree award winners). Sherlock Holmes. Audiobooks.

Movies/TV: 2001: A Space Odyssey, Wings of Desire (Der Himmel Über Berlin), anime (e.g., Ghost in the Shell and Miyazaki), science fiction. Babylon 5. Japanese-with-English-subtitles Iron Chef on channel 26 in the late 90s.

Music: I have a special fondness for 70s guitar-oriented glam/rock, and I have found music to love in just about every genre, including rap and hip-hop, country, experimental, and disco.

I sometimes say I like music with "an underlying simplicity." I had an argument with a friend once because I said Bach had an underlying simplicity and they said, no, Bach was very complex. I think this is one of those "amplectere potestem 'et'" (embrace the power of 'and') things.

Food: I'm an omnivore and I can find food compatibilities with most people. At times I am moderately adventurous about food, but if I find something I like at a restaurant, I'll order it over and over again. I enjoy the local dive that looks skanky but has good grub, and I enjoy Ron Siegel's Ritz Carlton Dining Room (on a very occasional basis), and I won't turn up my nose at a fast food restaurant. I can cook (I once seduced someone with my hot & sour soup) but it's not something I love to do, so I heavily patronize my local Trader Joe's.
