I am intrigued, hopeful, and witty.

My Self-Summary

Native New Englander but living in Portland for over 13 years now. I've adapted easily to the laid back, optimistic lifestyle here but I also retain a lot of my East coast qualities - I found my "voice" long ago. Liberal, loyal, affectionate, emotionally stable and always looking for new adventures. Interests include: camping, backpacking and hiking, canoeing, traveling, anything involving cooking and gardening, eventually getting off of okcupid. I would love to meet someone who can introduce me to some new experiences.

What I’m doing with my life

Planning the next "stage" of employment - been working several different jobs over the past few years: graphic design, contracting, serving and I'm now ready to delve back into a more career-worthy position. Trying to pin down what field I want to explore. Otherwise, I'm creating a great home and place to call my own and share with friends and family.

I’m really good at

Fixing things, building things, gardening, cooking, listening, traveling and living in the moment and making people laugh.

The first things people usually notice about me

My eyes

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: All the Pretty Horses, Blue Highways, Desert Solitaire, On the Road, The Foundation Trilogy, In the Fall
Movies: Swingers, Shawshank Redemption, High Fidelity, Office Space, The Green Mile, Big Lebowski
Music: Through the magic of iTunes I've been rediscovering some classic stuff lately: Dylan, ELO, Kiss, Aerosmith, Boston, Earth, Wind and Fire, Cure, Ramones, and as far as newer goes: RadioHead, Innocence Mission, Paolo Nutini, Coldplay, The Killers, Ben Harper, G. Love, blah, blah, blah

The six things I could never do without

Road Trips
Old friendships
My amazing, supportive, but oh-so-far-away parents
Seasons
Water to swim in
Change

I spend a lot of time thinking about

What the future holds for me and how I can realize my hopes through action. I can sometimes get into a mental "holding pattern" if I have no one else to bounce my ideas off of. I read an article in the New York magazine a few years ago where a family in Brooklyn turned their city plot of land into a mini-farm and produced enough food to live on - I thought that was an amazing feat and how cool it would be to find a like-minded person to accomplish something like that - albeit on a smaller scale. The teamwork aspect appeals to me.

On a typical Friday night I am

Often working (I work a few nights) and/or relaxing with friends - maybe a happy hour and movie.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I've watched Cheaters before.

You should message me if

You want to explore any possibilities ; )
