My self-summary
I'm in a relationship and looking only for people to bird watch with.
Genetically, I'm nearly identical to a Chimpanzee. My body consists of 10 to the power of 13 human cell, but 10 times as many bacterial cells, belonging to about 500 different species. I hope you'd accept them, as they are part of me.
I obtained a Masters degree in biology, have interest in evolutionary psychology, history and skepticism; I enjoy hiking, cycling and cross country skiing, as well as more sedentary activities such as modern board games (e.g. Agricola, Puerto Rico...) and bird watching.

I'm open and honest, preferring straight communication, and not a follower of fashion or enjoyer of small talk. Many of my interests are intellectual and I take them seriously, usually one at a time.
I'm self-proclaimed as logical, investigative, reflective, introspective, libidinous and occasionally funny.

Values and ideas I hold dear are well expressed by Dan Savage (podcasts here), Steven Pinker (here's one talk) and Sam Harris (video page).
Other food for thought: Logically Critical podcasts
What I’m doing with my life
The long range plan I'm working towards is getting into Swing dancing and learning how to hula hoop.
I’m really good at
* identifying northwest coast birds
* baking sweet potato puddings, apple crepes and carrot cakes
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I read non-fiction. Some recommendations:
The Moral Animal / Robert Wright
The Ethical Slut / Dossie Easton and Catherine Liszt
The Blank Slate / Steven Pinker
An Anthropologist on Mars / Oliver Sacks
The best American science and nature writing (a yearly series)
Soul Made Flesh / Carl Zimmer
Letter to a Christian nation / Sam Harris
Why people believe weird things: pseudoscience, superstition, and other confusions of our time / Michael Shermer

Movies: I would usually enjoy the occasional social science fiction.

I cook, feed friends, eat everything, and have a soft spot for sashimi.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I'm generally interested in the human mind and in different periods in my life I spent my time reading about Nature versus Nurture and the mind's innate traits (Evolutionary Psychology), how morality evolved through our evolutionary past, what cognitive features predisposes people to believe in god (see article Is God an Accident? by Paul Bloom), literary and historical analysis of the bible (see lectures Introduction to the Old Testament by Christine Hayes) and how people's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are influenced by the actual, imagined, or implied presence of others (Social Psychology).

After graduating univ. I sequestered myself in my cell for 4 months to read history. I delved into the bloody history of England and the history of the 20th century; alas, my readings made me realize that taking over the world, which was naturally my next plan, is too risky - so I started looking for a job.

A long-time student of Evolution, I value Science and love Nature.
On a typical Friday night I am
getting ready for Saturday morning hike or birding trip.
