So... My name is Shanna.. rhymes with Banana. Most people would agree that I'm short, cute, loving, and even funny on occasion. I love a good story. Stories about forgiveness, hope, courage, and, of course, love. Stories about good conquering evil, about the triumph of right over wrong. Stories about magic, or stories with magic. Stories about worlds I've never seen and wish I could. Ok.. you probably get the point. I'm in my last semester at ECU where I'm working on a BM in vocal performance. I love to sing. I enjoy theatre. Musical theatre is my first passion. Because I get to be a part of the story. And sing. What could be better? I'm also developing a passion for opera, although I doubt it will ever rival how I feel about Sondheim. I strive to live my life to the fullest. To never lose sight of the importance of a day off. To love with my whole heart every day. I want my life to mean something. I want for my living to have some impact on the world around me. And I'm looking for someone I can share all that with. Someone to bring a little magic to my story. Because, ultimately, I want my life to be worthy of the best-seller list.

I graduate this December with my BM in voice performance. This last semester is basically consumed with the stress of planning my senior recital. I spend most weekends in Raleigh, trying to make some paper. I work as a waitress... my plan after school is to work and save up some money and then move some place where my performance degree can make some money. Think.. NYC or Boston. Maybe Florida (Disney, hello!!). I'm also considering a second bachelors. In marine biology. Which has absolutely nothing to do with music and everything to do with my other loves in this life. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Also: I like to spend free time reading, watching movies, crocheting, cross stitching, making wreaths/centerpieces with silk flowers and the like. I enjoy horse back riding, dancing, and yoga (occasionally). I would much rather take a hike than walk around the city, but I'm terrified of spiders. Scared shitless in fact. Which keeps me pretty well indoors unless there's someone with me who I know will protect me. I spend as much time on roller coasters as possible. Someday I would love to get my SCUBA certification. And go skydiving.

Music. I'm good at music. I'm a pretty good waitress. I'm a good listener... I mean.. Idk. I'm good at being who I am.. empathetic, joyful, cute (in like.. a girly way), self-sacrificing, sarcastic, naive. I'm good at seeing the world with the excitement and wonder of someone who isn't jaded.

I love reading. My favorite types of books usually involve any combination of the following: an attempt to save the world, an epic love story, and magic. Some of my favorites are: The Hunger Games trilogy, the Sword of Truth series, His Dark Materials trilogy, The Lord of the Rings, The Mists of Avalon.

I love movies. Any and all. Well.. most anyways. But I'm always a sucker for Disney. Refer back to the elements of my favorite books.

My musical tastes are pretty eclectic and range from Mozart to Katy Perry. Yes. I said Katy Perry. And Mozart. In the same sentence. Feel free to judge.

Chilling with the family or hanging with some friends. I like to go to the movies or maybe out for a drink and see the people I love and don't get to spend every day with.

I'm insecure about my size. I have a thyroid condition which has caused me to gain some weight and I'm still trying to get it under control. I'm tired of people assuming that I don't strive for health and fitness just because I'm not a size two. If you can't be understanding and supportive of this then don't message me. I don't need your negativity.

At this point, I'm looking more to develop friendships than actively pursuing a dating relationship. I'm in a "let's just see what happens" phase.
