I never quite know what to write in these things, but I guess I can start off by telling you a little about myself. My name is Jacob, but all of my friends call me Jake. I am fascinated by biology, and spend a lot of time figuring out how things work. I am neither spiritual nor superstitious. I believe that we are who we are, and the only person who change that is us. I'm not a big fan of bars or clubs, unless I'm there with good company.

I appreciate a good sense of humor and and a skilled use of sarcasm.
I consider myself to be very tranquil and try not to take anything too seriously. I love the rain and can't imagine a more romantic evening than one spent cuddling with a special someone while watching the rain fall.

In terms of what I'm looking for, I'd ideally like a meaningful relationship with a quality guy. I'd like to be with someone who wants to be with me as much as I want to be with him, and that will be very much. I tend to show my feelings physically and am looking for a guy who can reciprocate that kind of affection. I'd also like someone I can have intellectual conversations with.

I'm not so sure I trust the entire concept of online dating. I'd be very surprised if I could find someone as described above, but I guess there's no harm in trying. So surprise me if you can!

I recently moved to Manhattan from Brazil and am waiting to start school next fall. Until then I'm getting situated in the city and am looking to make new friends.

Swimming and speaking Portuguese. I've done both since I can remember.

I guess people notice that I can be shy or quiet. But that's only when you first get to know me. I really open up around my friends.

I'd hate to be cliche, but I've really taken an interest in anything to do with vampires. Perhaps it's the way they're portrayed. Who wouldn't want to know more about mysterious and muscular men of the night?

I listen to all types of music (except country).

As for food, I love meat. Anything with meat is fine by me!

My Friday nights are anything but typical. I enjoy anything from an evening out with friends to a night spent at home watching a movie or cozying up to a new book.
