About me: I am kind hearted, passionate, empathetic, romantic, emotionally available, listen to others, love two way conversations, playful, confident and my sense of humor is one of my greatest strengths. My nature is to be active, although I like to stop to smell the roses (literally) and try to live in the moment. I root for the underdog (A Redskin and Wizards fan) and like the four legged dogs also. I am fortunate to have the greatest children on the planet, friends who are humorous and a successful career in technology that allows me to have fun and travel.
I enjoy going to sports events, all outdoors activities, and ride my bike to the gym at least 4 times a week. On nice days I will pack a picnic and go to Meridian Park and listen to the drum circle. Sometimes I enjoy fine dining in places like Tabard Inn, Rasika, Obelisk, Mintwood, Makato, and dive dinning like, Two Amy’s, Surfside, Cantlers, Le Diplomat(ok, this is not a dive place) and Siam House. I prefer roof top or outside café style dinning on nice days. I have been called a foodie and wine connoisseur. I am not snobby, I just believe “life is to short to drink bad wine”.
I prefer a great conversation, a good book, being outside, strolling holding hands, theater, comedy clubs, poetry open mic, sports events, oil painting, listening to music to watching television. Almost anything rates about TV for me. Although, I would be happy to watch my partners favorite TV show. Watching a movie on a rainy day in theaters or at home snuggled on the couch in front of a fire is also fun!!! I must admit that when I go skiing I only like to ski for half the day and I prefer to sit in front of a warm fire talking or in a hot tub the remainder of the day. Staying home for a dinner with candles, music and wine is also fun. Staying up late and lingering in bed on a weekend is heavenly and I enjoy surprising my partner to a healthy breakfast and latte in bed. Reading the paper, some coffee and then the Dupont Circle farmers market is my Sunday morning. Recently, I have been making my own pizzas and finally achieved nirvana with a thin hard crust just like those in northern Italy. It is all about the crust. I do not think I have read a profile that didn’t say “I like to travel”. I am well traveled and there is plenty more to experience. When I travel I prefer to go to the places the locals go to.
Occasionally, I do some community service work in a kitchen in DC and think it would be fun to have a partner join me once in a while. Taking a fun activity course together would also be exciting. I take salsa lessons Monday nights, yoga on Saturdays and I am thinking about doing another abstract art class.
I would like to find someone to share similar interests with, but understand and hope you would also understand we may have some different interests. I hope to find someone willing to try new things, places and foods since I am adventurous in most aspects of life. Hopefully you are adventurous enough to take a ride with me on my Vespa since I ride it all over the city when it is not raining. I am traditional in my values about family and friends, and still believe in chivalry, even though I do not have traditional tastes in movies, books, dress, music etc. I try not to sweat the small stuff and hope you are the same. My hope is to have the type of relationship where we can be open and honest to discuss everything. Laugh together at most things including ourselves. An occasional nose snort from laughter is good not gross. I want a relationship without secrets and no topic is off bounds. Open conversation without fear of judgment, honesty without resentment. I would like to find a partner who can compromise and work on an equal partnership. Cheers
