I am eclectic, optimistic, and determined.

My Self-Summary

I am not sure where to start here. I had a very old profile that I recently deleted, I guess to just make a fresh start.

I'm a fairly intelligent, nerdy, happy go lucky (usually), kind of girl. I'm currently going to school and working. I am a very introspective person so I am always examining life and the world around me. Also I have started trying to get into better shape lately and I would love to get into hiking. I've always felt very close to nature and I love exploring. I appreciate witty humor/banter. I despise pretentiousness and narrow-mindedness. I try not to be too rigid and prefer to do things off the cuff. Coffee is my friend. I love board games. I don't dance. I love karaoke, and dive bars, and the two combined is the best thing ever. I have 2 dogs (boston terrier and a jack russell). I am allergic to your cat. I get excited about little things, and it doesn't take much to amuse me. I love baking, and I'm starting to enjoy cooking too. I am very socially and politically liberal. I am an INFP personality if that means anything to you, which hopefully it does. I have a long to do list in my head I'm always adding to, I have realized I haven't been very adventurous and really want to try as many things as possible. I'm always learning new things about myself and evolving. Life is interesting. If you keep an open mind, you will usually end up where you need to be.

What I’m doing with my life

Working, schooling and trying to have a personal life all at the same time. It keeps me pretty busy.

I’m really good at

being accident prone.

The first things people usually notice about me

I do get a lot of compliments on my smile, but I think it really depends on what the person who is doing the noticing wants to notice. And that I am horrible with sentence structure and grammar, but I could beat the pants off of you with my spelling.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

oh, this is such a hard box to fill out. I do enjoy reading, but I can never finish a book anymore. I always have 2 or 10 books I have started but lost interest in halfway through, even though they were interesting. I think that working at a bookstore for 5 years somehow led to a book burnout. When I do pick up a book it is usually non-fiction or humorous/historical fiction.

I have always been a big movie fan. I don't have much time to catch many lately, but I have a lot of older favorites: Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind, office space, 40 year old virgin, dead poets society, dazed and confused, pulp fiction, Dr. Horrible's sing along blog (if that even counts), almost famous, fried green tomatoes, 21 grams, the notebook, Amile, before sunrise, garden state, lost in translation, I Love you man, Inglorious Basterds... I'm going to stop now before this list gets ridiculously long.

I live and breathe music. I listen to a little of everything, but I prefer music with substance and depth. Favorites are Ani Difranco, Ben Folds, Death Cab, Bright Eyes, Fiona Apple... I could go on and on. Also some classic rock/oldies thrown in. I'm listening to a lot of David Bowie lately.

As for food, mexican is my favorite, but I have to say I haven't tried much exotic cuisine. That's on my to do list.

The six things I could never do without

hope, friends, family, my principles, laughter, freedom, coffee. yeah, that's 7 but I don't care.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

The way things work, psychology, philosophy. Possibilites. Thinking about what challenges or opportunities life may throw at me next.

On a typical Friday night I am

Well, at this point in my life, probably studying. Or working, then studying. If I have free time I just want to do something low key. Hang out with some friends, have a couple beers and watch a movie. Good friends and good conversation make me a happy girl.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I have 2 dogs that I adore :)

You should message me if

It seems like we would get along well and you aren't looking to just hook up. I have a friends first philosophy, so hopefully you will be on that same page.
