My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi! I'm James.

You'll probably find my question answers and anything written below to be more useful than anything I could write here, let's be honest.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm an engineer, engineering things. Important and impressive things like bridges, dams, and skyscrapers. But in reality mostly TD Banks.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Predicting movie/TV show plots,
Stacking Jenga blocks,
Convincing people that Delaware is actually a pretty decent state
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!

Just a few examples of the types of books I like and why:

Brave New World is probably my favorite book, I think it made eerily accurate predictions about the world we live in, but also a lot of the things it portrayed as evil and wrong aren't necessarily so.

Shantaram: its great adventure story, especially since it's loosely based on the authors life, it really makes your life seem trite. Unless of course your life is just way more awesome than mine for some reason.

The Alchemist: it's a fun short book that reminds you that everything will be ok in the end.

Anything by Isaac Asimov: I like sci-fi!

Honestly anything, I can get really into mostly any movie put in front of me.

How I Met Your Mother (not anymore I guess), Game of Thrones, and Doctor who are the shows I'm currently following. I've also been known to enjoy Arrested Development, Futurama, Californication, Anything Netflix makes

If they play at Firefly or Bonnaroo I'm probably into them.

Cajun is my favorite, really anything spicy. Sriracha is practically a religion to my friends and myself.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
a good happy hour once in a while
Dogs, big ones that you don't have to be afraid of hurting when you play with them.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I do a lot of random math.

did you know that the amount of food you eat in a year has the same amount of energy as 100 semi-trucks traveling at 100 mph? (As well as a paper clip travelling at 3% the speed of light)

And if you won a 50 million dollar lottery and chose to have it paid to you biweekly over the course of 80 years, you would receive a $26,000 check every two weeks for the rest of your life?

Wolfram Alpha is basically my best friend
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I like alcohol! That's novel right? But seriously yeah I'm probably out drinking or sleeping so I can go out Saturday night with a vengeance.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I am a huge fan of Marina and the Diamonds. Not even ashamed, she's amazing.
