I am creative, analytical, and laid back.
My Self-Summary
Hi, my name is Frank,
http://www.flovephotography.com
I graduated a Media Arts major and Film Studies Minor so I love
Movies, I have a dresser full of DVD's and I'm not exaggerating, it
really is a dresser...full of dvds. So I'm of course into Film
stuff, also art in general. I'm a huge fan of Music in general
though I mainly like
Rock. I love going to
concerts and being here in NY has
spoiled me with all the artists that come through here. I like just
about at least one band from almost every genre of rock, but I
don't like most rap and hip hop.
So yea, I like to keep up with
Politics because I wanna know what's
going on in my world and like to think of how to
fix real problems in
the world. I'm also interested in
Philosophy because I have a very
analytical mind, so I figure why not try and figure some stuff out.
I love to
debate
things because I think it challenges the way you think about
things, and the way other people think, which I think helps keep
people
honest and
from assuming things about other people. I'm big into Stereos and
electronics in general. I love
Apple computers. Windows blows btw. I'm
also a
photographer and plan on being a
cinematographer
eventually.
I'm somewhat of a walking contradiction in how I love technology
and gadgets yet I subscribe to a
Newspaper,shoot
film in my photography, and often think
about what it would of been like to of lived during the last half
of the 19th century and the first part of the the 20th, namely here
in NYC.
I love
coffee and
drink at least a cup or two, often from Dunkin Donuts, pretty much
every day, though I also love
MUD coffee.
I love finding
places in this city. I am a sucker for meeting up with someone
and just having a night out to eat, drink (coffee/tea/beer),
walk around,
talk, go to a movie, or something I haven't even thought of yet.
I'm also a big fan of the idea of staying in with a good movie or
something with something warm to drink and
someone to share with
cuddled on the couch in
PJ's.
What I’m doing with my life
So essentially I live in
NYC, have been for 3 years now. Most of that
time I have been establishing, or at least attempting to, a career
in the
film
industry. I can now thankfully say that I am in fact a member
of the International Cinematographer's Guild, and have been and
will continue to work as an
Assistant Cameraman on a
variety of projects. That basically means I help take care of all
the
camera
equipment. I am working my way on becoming a
Cinematographer eventually, so I
can actually shoot the projects I work on.
Also in this time I have come to fall in love with still
photography as well. I had been a fan, but at this point that
wouldn't quite be an accurate word for it. So I also shoot as a
still photographer, often just walking around the city,
occasionally with models, often with friends. I have come to now
own about 11 cameras, 3 of which are my workhorses that I use
regularly, the newest of which is the classic Polaroid camera the
SX-70. Yes, I shoot film,
real film, and that's all I shoot. I
love it. Because of the disparities between still and motion
picture photography, I am still working my way into a position to
shoot for motion pictures, and it will likely take a few more years
before I am in a better position to do so (at least I hope no
more). As for my still photography, I have already won 4th Place in
the Carl Zeiss Best of '07 competition, and am featured in a
brochure of theirs as well.
Also check out this short I just shot in Feb that is one of the 10
Finalists!!

I’m really good at
Photography, Filmmaking, general movie knowledge
Technical
stuff; like being the computer, photo/film, and A/V tech
support for all my friends and family
Finding
my way around; between my obscene sense of observation and my
iPhone....I'm pretty much never lost.
Walking NYC;
when I first moved here I didn't know anyone, had no computer, and
no TV. So I kinda walked around the city a couple hours at a time.
There was one day I walked from the battery to a little ways into
central park cept for like 8 blocks on the train, though I also
made it over to the UN....so.
Staying
awake; my personal best so far is 52 hours (in college) though
I doubt I'll best that. Currently my job and the possibility of the
occasional 18 hour day or having to work an overnight basically has
me wired to where I can sleep at any time of day for various
lengths of time.
