My self-summary
And here it is, the space in which I am to describe myself in terms that make me sound interesting enough to want to converse with but not so eccentric that you are concerned I might be a nutjob or so fantastic that I appear to be exaggerating. It's like an elevator pitch, but the job I'm trying for is your friendship.

Let's see if I can avoid wasting it, shall we?

I'm a geek. Like a gaming geek. RPG's, card games, that sort of thing. I groove on comic books, movies, music, poetry, novels and assorted prose. I also hope to have writing credits in all of the above at some point.

I've lived on the Eastern side of the US all my life, though my mind has lived everywhere from Middle Earth to Persephone. I like ordering off menus that aren't in English first and debating... well, most things really.

I am inertial, loquacious, and a bit improbable
What I’m doing with my life
I'm software tester by trade. I'm in the midst of a lot of changes and experiments. I became a homeowner a few years ago and am having both joy and conniptions as a result.

I'm in the process of trying to promote my writing and making more of it. If you want, you can check out my very seldom updated website:

On 6/6/9, I got married. It was pretty awesome.

I need to get back to some other writing projects. I spend a too much time online debating religion, guns and politics, but I may need to slack off on that to focus on things like an RPG I was working on and some additional prose work I'd like to do.

You can find me as Lord Fluffy on Twitter and in some other places.
I’m really good at
...pushing my luck.

...talking pretty (on my good days).

...giving stealth backrubs.

..procrastinating

The first things people usually notice about me
I usually say that I'm talk a lot, but lately it's been pointed out that I can be downright silent when you first meet me.

Now, it's probably the beard.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
a) I'm horribly under-read. Stuff I like: Anything by Steven Brust. Harry Potter. I'm very fond of Heinlein as well, particularly Stranger in a Strange Land. I've finally read American Gods and Good Omens and loved both of them.

I'm just now getting into Seressia Glass' Shadow Blade series. There's exactly two so far, but they're very fun contemporary dark fantasy.

I'll also include comics here and point out I'm fond of Warren Ellis' work (particularly Transmetropolitan), Grimjack, and I'm currently grooving on 100 Bullets. Also, Joe Linsner is a god amongst men and his comic Dawn reflects this.

(b) I've been told I have cracked out movie tastes. Faves include: The Princess Bride, The Breakfast Club, LotR, The Matrix, Fight Club, Big Trouble in Little China, UHF, Equilibrium, V For Vendetta, Kill Bill*, Spider-Man*,Serenity (and Firefly), Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World and The Boondock Saints.

I'm a fan of Asian Cinema, both live action and animated, and some of my faves include Oldboy, The Killer (and pretty much anything else by John Woo), Ninja Scroll, Full metal Alchemist and Battle Royale.

On my favorite B-Movies list:Ginger Snaps, Circutry Man*, Rock and Rule, Heavy Metal, The Rocky Horror Picture Show**, Static***, Killing Time***, Fright Night**, Harold and Maude, Knightriders***, Repo: The Genetic Opera, and Berry Gordy's The Last Dragon.

*And the sequel(s). **B-Movie Status debatable. ***You've probably never seen this, so don't fret if you don't remember it

(c) My music tastes are eclectic, from Goth to Country & Western, Celtic to Techno, Swing to old school Punk. Recently, I've rekindled my love affair with Heavy Metal. I can recommend Van Canto (a cappella heavy metal), Alestorm (Real Scottish Pirate Metal) Lordi (a Monster/Horror themed band), and Pain (not the rapper).

(d) Eat to live or live to eat? More the second. That said, I've recently had to limit my diet due to health concerns. This hasn't stopped me from eating good food, just limiting how much of it I take in at a time.

On my plate you will find dead cow, sushi, Chinese, good Italian, and I'll try virtually anything once. I occasionally like to cook and don't think I suck at it. Then again, I have burned spaghetti. Not the sauce, the noodles.

Bonus: TV shows: Firefly, Buffy, Angel, Law and Order, Crossing Jordan, Dr. Who, Torchwood, Ghost Hunters, Battlestar Galactica, Burn Notice, Flash Forward, House.

The six things I could never do without

-Stimulation
-Affection
-Freedom
-Reason
-Beauty
-Truth

I spend a lot of time thinking about
...games, religion, my friends and loved ones, how I would run my own country, the things I'm not doing, the things I need to finish soon, and at the moment, nerf guns.
On a typical Friday night I am
With my lady at a movie or indulging in good food. Perhaps playing Magic: The Gathering with friends. Sometimes comatose on the couch.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

I'm polyamorous, meaning I believe that one can carry on multiple romantic relationships at once without detriment to anyone involved.

I'm bi. I'm not sure where I fall on the Kinsey scale but I tend to find fewer men who are my type than women who are my type.

I don't give out superlatives. Telling someone that they are the "most" or "best" or some similar adjective feels to much like lying. I'd rather just compliment someone on their qualities without having to compare them to someone else for it to matter.

I’m looking for
  • Guys and girls who like bi guys
  • Ages 25–45
  • Located anywhere
  • For new friends
You should message me if
...you need a distraction.

At the moment and for some time to come, I'm going to be concentrating romantically on my wife. This means it will probably be a while before I'm in a dating mood. On the other hand, I'm still quite capable of making friends, finding people to hang out with, share ideas on the interwebs and acquire pen pals.

If any of the above interests you, I'd love to hear from you.
