My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm smart, funny and accomplished. I'm phenomenally, overwhelmingly sexy.

I'm a sensualist, and my preferred senses this week are taste and smell. Touch goes a long way with me, though.

I'm a great conversationalist, an active reader, an almost-nearly-published writer, and (within living memory) a competitive athlete. I do a lot of yoga these days, I swim and when it's cool out I run. Well, maybe not so much running.

I'm looking for someone who is: smart, funny and accomplished. quirky, well-read, artistically aware, kind, silly, sexy, pretty in her own way. Relaxed, outgoing, athletic, fun. Sweet sometimes, spicy sometimes. Happy, cynical, witty, not too self-impressed. Cool. But not too cool for school.

Be educated, be literate, be inquisitive, be height/weight proportionate, be honest. I'm not interested in a million coffee dates. I'm seeking to avoid an endless search for the perfect person. However, I AM interested in finding someone who I have some heat with.

IMPORTANT: Conservatives and real church-y ladies probably won't do too well with me. Nor women from terribly far out of town.

ALSO IMPORTANT: While you don't have to be a Brazilian Supermodel, you do have to look after yourself appropriately. HWP is good. Fit is very good. There are some women who carry an extra, oh, fifteen or twenty pounds very well. Most don't. Sloppy is very, very bad.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work, I see my kids, I read, I stay active. I like books and magazines. I listen to music. I photograph. I love to eat, both at home and out. I drink in moderation. I do yoga. I did martial arts for a long time, but I'm getting kind of old for that.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Geez, all kinds of stuff. I'm good with language and finance, with art and sports, with jokes and psychology. I do business stuff for a living, so I'm good at that too.

I like genre fiction a lot. Detectives, thrillers, spies, science fiction. I do read "real" literature as well (though there is a long discussion about why genre fiction is real literature). I like Hemingway and Faulkner, Salinger and Tennessee Williams, Bukowski and Bester, Michael Chabon and John Le Carre and Alan Furst. I liked two out of the three "dragon tattoo" books a lot, and the other sorta kinda. I really liked "The Other Typist".

Not surprisingly, my taste in films follows my taste in books. Sometimes a slow movie works for me, but I'm a product of the end of the 20th century and I do need pacing. I like Blade Runner and Chinatown, Apocalypse Now and the Godfather, Hitchcock and Kubrick, Amelie and Vicky Cristina Barcelona, spaghetti westerns and Star Wars. But I like movies with stuff that blows up too. End of 2013 releases were pretty good. I laughed at We Are the Millers. Gravity left me a little underwhelmed. American Hustle was nothing short of glorious.

We live in the golden age of TV. I adore Mad Men, Game of Thrones, Homeland, House of Cards, Boardwalk Empire, Arrested Development and Bob's Burgers. Scandal is my guilty pleasure. Arrow was awesome before it turned into a drama-feelings-OMG-fest at the end of S1; good enough for me to give S2 a try.

I listen to jazz and house, bossa nova and brazilian modern, Led Zeppelin and Marvin Gaye. I could listen to "Kind of Blue" every day. I like the B-52's more than Haim, Madonna more than Lady Gaga, Tame Impala more than Badfinger.

Austin has turned into an awesome eating city. I'm so happy that I can't really keep up with all the new restaurants. There's a part of me that would eat at the bar at Justine's every night.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My espresso machine, my glasses (lol getting old), my camera, my internet, my car, pizza.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Stuff that's too complicated to write in a little paragraph
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
If I'm with my kids? Couch and pizza and movie. Otherwise, it's kind of wide open.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
