My Self-Summary

My name is Mike, and Im a bit of a geek. Computers are my job, hobby, and one of my main interests. Not that I base my existance solely on computers or anything, they are just a big part of who I am. I can enjoy a variety of activities, but some of my favorites are driving, or tinkering. This is my first foray into open-community dating sites, so don't be too harsh!

What I’m doing with my life

Right now I'm finishing a 2 year degree in computer programming. Once I'm done with that I hope to find a position with a large company that will allow me to continue my education and get into something like IT management, or computer engineering. Living in rural Iowa is nice, but probably not the best place to be for lucrative computer opportunities, so a move next year is not out of the question. Other than school I do computer-repair freelance work, and will be starting a help-desk job soon.

Driving! (haha, probably thought I'd say Computers, didn't ya?)

No seriously, I've never done any professional racing circuits or anything like that, but I really pride myself on being a safe/skilled driver. That being said, I would like to at some point be in a intermediate type competition, like auto-cross. Right now I just don't have the money to spend on the expensive tires and track insurance.

The first things people usually notice about me

People usually don't notice me, when they do they'd probably find I'm awkard at first around new people, but quickly warm up to them. I have a very friendly nature once I know a person, and I love to goof around.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: I usually like non-fiction books the best, informational reading. While I don't dislike typical literature, I really have to be interested or driven to finish it.

Movies: My all time favorite movies are The Whole Nine Yards, and Matchstick Men. I enjoy a good sci-fi or thriller, so I also enjoyed:
I, Robot. The Matrix. and War of the Worlds (the latest). Going back to the driving thing, the Transporter movies are up on my list as well.

Food: I prefer keeping to typical meat and potatoes, but I do like Chinese, Italian, and Mexican. Nothing too spicy, and no crazy sea food. I could live on home-made canned corn, frozen peas, frozen/fresh steamed green beans, and fresh steamed Broccoli (with/without cheese)

The six things I could never do without

My Family, car, computer, and MP3 playing phone are big on the list. A large trunk (ask me if you dare! ;-) and definitely my bag-o-tools.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

My future, and where I'm going to be. My present, and the things I need to do to get where I want to go.

On a typical Friday night I am

At home doing homework. I know, I know, boring, right? Ah well, I've partied enough in my past to last me awhile. That being said I do like to go out, but I prefer a quiet bar where it's possible to hold a conversation.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I get the heeby-geebies from spiders. Once I've seen it, it doesn't bother me at all, but if one surprises me I jump away before I get my wits about me.
