I am genuine, reserved, and dependable.

My Self-Summary

Quiet & shy guy, don't break out of my shell until I get comfortable with whoever I'm with ... after that, I'll be cracking jokes and being pleasant. I prefer quiet company & conversation with people I enjoy spending time with, reading, or thinking of something to do.

My interests ... follow the NFL, NASCAR, and NHL, and have teams/individuals I root for, but I don't foretell the end of the world if I miss a broadcast or don't know the outcome of last night's game. Own a classic car (weekend car, once restoration is complete -- long story), so things "classic" will perk-up my ears. Hitchcock is probably the best director of all time. More comfortable with the jitterbug and polka than the "white man overbite" on the dance floor (thank you, "When Harry Met Sally").

My friends know who they are, I’m loyal and considerate to a probable fault. What I think I would offer a woman is a dose of reality, loyalty, a (albeit warped) sense of humor, and I guess the knowledge I'll be there when you need me, even if you don't think you do.

A woman who I think would be perfect for me is someone with the self-confidence to try new things (or in the absence of, at least enough to tell-me-off when I need it), smart (both book- and street- preferred, but it's OK if you're only one), and energetic. A willingness to grab the glove and throw each other grounders is a big plus.

What I’m doing with my life

getting settled into this area, moved here from out-of-state for a job

I’m really good at

- figuring stuff-out
- lawn care
- organizing
- thinking about cleaning
- wasting time online

The first things people usually notice about me

quiet, shy, somewhat sarcastic sense of humor, good posture (you laugh, but I'm being serious)

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

(A) books: Dickens was the man; really a pity that some of his works are sniffed-at by the "literary professionals" because he didn't *always* aim one of his novels at correcting a societal wrong
(B) anything that keeps me entertained, with a low factor of "Oh, c'mon -- that can't happen" (bends in reality)
(C) rock, country (banjos are cool!), polka (accordions are cool!), some classical
(D) I'll eat nearly anything

I spend a lot of time thinking about

where I am in life

On a typical Friday night I am

relaxing after a long week, maybe watching a movie

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

... sorry -- it takes me some time to get to trust you, this space here has NOT earned it

You should message me if

... your choice, really -- no arm-twisting
