I am smart, introverted, and good hearted.

My Self-Summary

I struggle to be the best dad and husband I can be. I work IT and my social circles are small. Vegetarian. Introspective. Not cosmically aligned, but still looking. Sarcastic, but trying not to be so much of the time. Realistic, although some might see it as pessimistic.

What I’m doing with my life

Raising my kids, loving my wife, demeter_bi, working IT. Always trying to learn something new each day if I can. Playing games, especially board games and tabletop RPGs(mostly indie rpgs). Struggling with depression (although not so much lately, thankfully).

I’m really good at

Troubleshooting. Running RPGs for friends. Losing focus and wasting time. Somewhat decent as a cook, though I'm still learning there.

{He makes awesome biscuits and scones! - Demeter_bi}

The first things people usually notice about me

I don't know - I'm not them... Probably my sense of humor.

{The first thing I noticed was his quick wit, followed by his beautiful mahogany eyes. - Demeter_bi}

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books - SciFi, fantasy, good character drama. Lately anything by Richard K. Morgan, Terry Pratchett, Scott Lynch, Jim Butcher.

Comics - KODT, Echo, Strangers in Paradise, Boneyard, Buffy Season 8, Watchmen, Kingdom Come, Cerebus, Middleman, Mouse Guard

Movies - Blade Runner, Star Trek - 2009, Iron Man, Princess Bride, Stardust, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, lots of others

TV - Firefly, Defying Gravity, Pushing Daisies, No Heroics, Better off Ted, Being Erica, Warehouse 13, Angel, Buffy, all the scifi staples pretty much,
Good Eats and all things Alton, and plenty of kids movies/shows.

Music - lots. Richard Shindell, Peter Gabrielle, One Republic, Ahh Ne Mah, Delerium... If its not country or rap, I'll probably listen to it. And even then I have a soft spot for Johnny Cash and Eminem.

Food - any good vegetarian, and I had this tempeh Rueben once to die for.

RPGs - Primetime Adventures, Spirit of the Century/Fate, Ganakagok, Chronica Feudalis, Savage Worlds, Dogs in the Vineyard, and a bunch of others. If its a more character/issue driven game, I'll try it.

The six things I could never do without

My wife
My kids
Books and the ability to read
Games and getting to play them

Food
Air
- ok so they're obvious, but what do you want me to say - my Ipod - I think I survived without one most of my life, I think I could do without it...

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Focus and trying to keep it
Why I act the way I do, and does it make sense - sometimes no..
Games and telling stories
Parenting and how my kids will need a therapy fund
My relationships
Lack of community

On a typical Friday night I am

Home, taking care of things, relaxing from the work week, and trying to figure out what things need to happen on the weekend. Occasionally playing games with friends, but usually that's a different night.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

That even though I hate reality TV, I'm actually oddly drawn to watch Deadliest Catch...

Really, with the power of web spiders and google searches should I put anything too personal here. If you really want to find something out message me...

You should message me if

My profile makes you wonder if we could be friends. Especially if you want to talk about board games, RPGs, TV shows, books.... Honestly I'd like to find some friends to talk to, more than anything else. Still open to the else though...

I speak fluent geek, pagan, parent, and gamer. I'm reasonably fluent in poly, kink, and programmer. If that, and my age (seems like everyone is younger than me on okc) doesn't scare you off, I'd like to hear from you.
