I am mindful, quick to laugh, and always amusing.
My Self-Summary
I'm refreshing and real to the bone. I laugh a lot. I'll listen to
you and give good advice. I'm a pretty damn good cook and a
generous host. I speak my mind. I'm thoughtful and loyal. I'm down
right honest, but never unkind. I’m very passionate about design-
furniture, architecture, especially modern/mid century. I'm
independent, but have come to learn I don't need to do everything
on my own. I also find as I get older, the things that bring about
chemistry, are not what they were when I was younger. And I'm an
adult and totally over the bullshit.
What I’m doing with my life
Always looking for good design and uncommon beauty.
In terms of career, I am currently in transition, figuring out what
the next step is, be it in the same direction or something new and
taking some well deserved time off: Peddling around the city,
taking long walks along the coast line, skipping rocks, enjoying
Golden Gate Park.
I’m really good at
I can cook and love to cook for people, unfortunately my place is a
wee bit small, but I have a huge deck with a lovely view of Dolores
street and my neighbors bathroom.
Taking care of myself, perhaps to a fault: I'm some bad ass shit.
The first things people usually notice about me
Definitely my laugh, quickly followed by my smile. A bit deeper,
surprisingly shy, but incredibly expressive and strong.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: Case Histories, Diane Arbus biography, Black Swan Green,
Devil in the White City, Blindness, Princess Bride, Atlas Shrugged,
Richard Price, and always Baldwin.
Film/tv: Secretary, Klute, Rachel getting Married, You can count on
me, The Wire, The Graduate, Killing Zoe, Apocalypse Now, Blade
Runner, Californifacation - absolutely brilliant, High Art, Laurel
Canyon, Lost in Translation, Almodvar, Scifi, so much more...
Music: Beck, Everything but the Girl, LCD Sound System, Stones,
White Stripes, Belle and Sebastion, Iron & Wine, The Black
Keys, The Kills
Food: I live in the mission, so I tend to eat near my house: Bar
Tartine- quiet dinner, Farina - the pesto, Little Star Pizza - any
pie, Pizzeria Delfina - the Margherita, Sunflower - Pho & the
pepper prawns, Bi-Rite - wine and cheese, The Corner - love the
food & decor...I'm a creature of habit.
The six things I could never do without
Coffee, good design, even better wine, a good sense of humor,
literature, kindness and good friends. And to be completely honest:
my iPhone.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
All those people who voted for Bush, not once, but twice. Why I
don't have a kinky badge. Why people don't put more consideration
into design, especially architecture. Why greed and injustice are
often rewarded.
On a typical Friday night I am
cold kickin' it
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
Nothing, absolutely nothing.
You should message me if
You are incredibly laid back and open minded. You lean to the left
and you give a damn. You've been through some hard times, learned
from it, and have some funny stories to share. You can enjoy the
quiet moments. You are patient. Someone with an uncommon wit: who
has the ability to laugh at life- all aspects of it from the madcap
to the unsavory, and with me, because I do it often. You are
someone who wants to be good friends. You are honest and genuine.
Just a little communication, yes, that's good. But someone who
might also stop me when my communication is getting out of hand
(yeah, happens sometimes). You can Paint me, Sculpt me, Whittle me,
Draw me, Calculate me, Formulate me, Cook me, Collect me, Astonish
me, Build me, Drive me, leave me in Awe.
